FSX-SE ENG/WAL Scenery Issue

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

After years of FSX ive wiped my slate clean and switched to the steam edition.

After wanting more i thought i would bite the bullet and go out on some decent scenery so i bought England and Wales scenery.

Having some slight scenery issues i managed to get FTX Central 2 working and updated both scenery files as well as the library's files.

All was looking sweet whilst flying but then as i flew over from cardiff leaving wales into the south west of england i noticed where the sea was supposed to be was a country side??

Ive attached a photo i took so you could see.

Ive looked on forums and my mind has been blown, can anyone help?

So far it is a full clean install of steam edition and the only 2 addons i have is england and wales from orbx.

Any help would be much appreciated!

sadly nope, although ive had many problems getting this installed, keeps coming up with error after error until i realised that the steam and steam library files where installing in to each other so ive copied alot of stuff on to each so it almost mirrors each other and thats how i managed to get it working, but my last problem is still the water issue..

Before this i had a problem with scenery.cfg area.130, what i did was copied that file from the steam folder and pasted into the steam library folder and it worked fine....

my mind is fused out at the moment trying to get this running perfectly..

Your FSX installation should be in Steam\steamapps\common\FSX

and if your registry entry matched that, the installers would work.

Perhaps you could take a break and then start again from the

beginning.

You will need to have the installers for your products and for the

latest libraries for FSX to hand.

You may also need the FSX Registry Utility from this page

to verify that it is correct, once you have properly installed

FSX Steam.

Gonna be a long night, but gonna uninstall everything, and start again.

My main FSX folder was in Steamlibrary as well as the steam folder.

I have all products downloaded on my harddrive with patches so will try again.

Tony,

There may still be a latent issue with installing the ORBXlibs through FTXC2, versus downloading the lib update manually through ORBX.  Try downloading the file manually and reinstalling it and see if that fixes the problem.  Alternatively, you can also try this, which was posted by Ed:

Hope this helps you out.
