hanss
Hello, I came across this elevation problem in EKVG Vagar. N 62.4,14 W 7.17,96. Voyager
Hi Hans, Run the FTX Gobal Vector Configurator Tool, tab> Airport Elevation Corrections; subtab <Run Auto-Configuration> when it finished cataloging, apply button <apply> Cheers,
hanss
Hi Voyager, I did as you advised, however the result remains the same. See the result: N 62.4,14 W 7.17,96. http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/z9o Perhaps I am doing something terribly wrong. Voyager
If FTX Gobal Vector Configurator Tool did the right service, you should have these files exactly as they are listed below: \Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_APT\scenery\APT_EKVG.bgl \Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_AEC\scenery\AEC_EKVG.bgl \Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_APT\scenery\ABP_EKVG_Default.inactive \Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_APT\scenery\ABP_EKVG.bgl If they are not that way, AEC has not worked. But you can adjust the files on it, manually under your risk because you know I'm not an expert. What do you think? Back up the original, and leave everything as is listed above ... hanss
Hi Voyager, Thanks for your advise and willingness to think with me to come to a solution. Both with EKVG as with HSPN (Port Sudan), which I reported a few weeks ago, I have the files as you describe in alphabetical order. What I had noted and reported a few months ago is that my scenery file order is different from the one described in the Guide. The Guide says: FTX OpenLC Scenery Named defaults FSGlobal 2010 Entries FTX Global Vector Entries (OBJ, APT, CVX, EXX) Numbered Default Scenery FTX Global Vector Entry (AEC) Default Scenery Default Terrain. What I have is: FTX Vector AEC Open LC Named Defaults FS Global 2010 Default SceneryDefault terrain I don't see FTX Global Vector Entries (OBJ, APT, CVX, EXX). I have tried to changed the sequence in accordance with the Guide, but then I got other problem like sunken runways etc. The order I use, which I presume is wrong, gives me less problems except the AEC problems with EKVG and HSPN and probably some others. Strange is that: - a presumed wrong order gives better reults - Vector has installed itself, but forgot to add entires like OBJ, APT, CVX, EXX and has put AEC in the wrong place. Would the solution be that i uninstall vector and re-install it? Regards Hans
Guest
Hi Hans, As you have FS Global 2010 mesh , the documentation explains some airports elevation need to be modified by the free version AFX provided with the product. Before that, did you set the mesh resolution to 5m as it's a usual advice for FTX products ? Sometimes that solves the elevation issue.
Voyager
Hi Hans, The thing is a little messed up. Never mind, it'll just give a little work and attention. 1. ensure that you have the latest Orblibs installed -> https://www.fullterrain.com/support#orbxlibs; 2. ensure that your mesh this set to 5m; 3. open the Central FTX 2: a. go to "settings": choice as the shots b: ensure that the FTX is like the shot and save the changes. Close Central FTX 2. ================================ Run the simulator and see how is your Scenery Lybrary 4. Close the simulator and make sure you have FTX Global Vector patches 1.15 and 1.20 -> https://www.fullterrain.com/support 5. Install them in sequence. 7. Run the last Orblibs; 8. Run the FTX Gobal Vector Configurator Tool as indicated in post # 2; after Run FS... and cross your fingers, everything will be right. Cheers, PS: Now I will take a walk through the park here and will be back in two hours.
hanss
Thanks Voyager and Richard, I have to leave it for the weekend and will follow your advise on Monday and will report back. In the meantime I have re-installed Vector with better results. Thank you very much Regards Hans
hanss
Hello all, I could not resist trying it out now. I did as you described, I even re-installed Global 2010. Almost all airports I came across with AEC problems are ok now, however Vargas is better, but not good as the water is jumping up to the same level as the runway. See the picture attached. The scenery sequence is in accordance with the guide now. How can this be solved? http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/zKd Regards Hans
Voyager
Hi Hans, I'm glad you arranged your library. As for Vagar, mate this is a Vector issue. See a shot of my end: It has been much debated and Lincoln, Pilot's agent, has noted this issue to be fixed in the next Vector version (God help us ...)! Good landings and Blue Skies! gaab
Hello, Take a look at the free scenenery EKVG_25A.zip at AVSIM. Nice rendition and It does address the problem. Before downloading, you can take a look at two screenshoots (nice). Enjoy this nice island. Gérard
