FTX Central - Issue

SubOne

Recommended Posts

Hello,

First up, can I assume that now I have installed FTX Global, the FSX Default icon disappears from the main window area of FTX Central, and I should not be concerned that FSX Default is not shown?

Secondly, and my main issue, is that when I try to switch between regions - FTX Global, Oceania and Europe - I get a message popup saying:

Uncontrolled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.  The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.

When I click Continue, the selected region icon turns light blue, Applying Region pops up in the bottom left and I get the Windows rotating circle 'thingy' as Central hangs and doesn't do anything. When I then close Central via the red close X at the top right and re-open, the selected region is now ticked.

I have been installing a couple of FTX airports in Australia, at which time I had Oceania selected, but tried to use Global for a couple of European airports.

Can it also be confirmed that there is a need to change regions depending on where the new airport scenery is located even with FTX Global installed.

There have been no other applications open when installing airport scenery; any zip files are extracted to a separate folder on the desk top from where they are run as Administrator. My FSX main install is on a separate HDD as in F:/FSX

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Hi Guy,

Yes, you're correct. As FTX Global replaces the default FSX textures, it also replaces the icon in FTX Central too.

Could you please click the "details" button on the exception message and paste the full text in here?

Also, make sure you have installed the latest Orbx Libraries: https://fullterrain.com/support#orbxlibs

Hi Ben,

Sorry slow reply. This is the exception message:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Yes, I do have the latest Orbx Libraries installed, and re-installed after any FTX airport addon installed.

Hope this helps.

Thanks...
