spinker
Where can you find instructions to completly uninstall FTX Global openLC
Nick Cooper
I have looked at your previous topics and posts and I see that you say that you have previously successfully uninstalled OpenLC. I see also that you have an open support request relating to an OpenLC error message. I wonder what has prompted this latest question? The answer, I believe, is to delete all the OLC_EU** scenery library entries and then to delete folders ORBX\FTX_OLC\OLC_EU1 to ORBX\FTX_OLC\OLC_EU10 If you wish to remove Open LC from the FTX Central products report, go to to ORBX\User Documents\Versions and delete FTX_OLC_EU1.TXT to FTX_OLC_EU10.TXT There may be other steps and I do not recommend that you do any of this. If you specify the problem you are having, we may be able to help with that instead.
spinker
My original post : After installing Global open LC I am getting an error message every time I start FSX (see below) . _____________________________________________________________________________ "Scenery.cfg file error, local scenery directory" "(ORBX\FTX_OLC\OLC_NA1\SCENERY)I in scenery area 270 not found click ok to continue." _____________________________________________________________________________ In my Scenery.cfg file this is what is in area 270 [Area.270] Title=ORBX!OPENLC_NAMERICA1 Local=ORBX\FTX_OLC\OLC_NA1 Layer=270 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Notice in my Scenery.cfg file the entry seems to be missing ""parenthesis"" ?? and also missing the word \SCENERY Notice this error message has ""parenthesis"" at the beginning and end of error message. It was explained to me that Parenthesis meant the file was not there I am confused the file OLC_NA1in the error message is alsio followed with the word \SCENERY. ' I was told: To remove the error message, you need to restore the folder ORBX\FTX_OLC\OLC_NA1. Re-installing FTX Global should achieve this, however you may wish to use Windows File Explorer to check your ORBX file structure first, in case it has inadvertently been moved. I checked and it was not found OLC_NA1 I uninstalled Global LC as your instructions show. and re-installed Global LC. Now in my ORBX FTX OLC directory I do not find "OLC_NA1" Only entry's I find are OLC_AA and OLC_EU1 thru EU_10 also no Scenery and Texture files listed. Something seems to be blocking "OLC_NA1" I uninstalled Global LC again, don't know what to do next. NOTE?: I an using FSX, I had installed FTX global LC and uninstalled Global LC once before due to texture problems . If you could help that would be great. Nick Cooper
I am afraid I cannot offer any more advice beyond that given in your other topic on this subject. http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/84684-strange-error-message-after-installing-ftx-global-lc/ I see also several topics on the same or similar subjects, starting with this one. http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/82620-i-really-mssed-up-ftx-global-openlc-europe-please-help/ I should stress that the missing folder is NOT part of OpenLC Europe and will not therefore be restored during re-installation of this product. Nick Cooper
I see you are using Windows 7 and FSX. Can you tell me please 1. What exactly is the path to your FSX folder? 2. When you run an installer, what path does the installer say it is going to install to? 3. Whether or not you run the installers as an Administrator? Thank you. spinker
Hello Nick, You have solved my problem aferall, your final words told me that I have been searching for file that did not exist. This was probably caused by the original faulty error message that I first received. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Scenery.cfg file error, local scenery directory" "(ORBX\FTX_OLC\OLC_NA1\SCENERY)I in scenery area 270 not found click ok to continue." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- your words: "I should stress that the missing folder is NOT part of OpenLC Europe and will not therefore be restored during re-installation of this product." I guess I have been chasing a file that did not exist thinking it was apart of Globa openLC I have now re-installed Global open LC Everything is in the proper place ie: FSX/WORLD/SCENERY, Scenery.cfg, FSX/ORBX/FTX_OLC Scenery areas textures seem to be fine. So I guess this is fixed and this thread can be closed. Thanks so much, Spinker
