BuddyDog
I am having my computer rebuilt with new CPU, MOBO, GPU and adding a 500GB SSD to go along with my 2TB HDD. My thought is to put Win7 and FSX on the SSD. I only have FTX Global now, but with a new system, I am interested in more ORBX scenery. I will be doing full reinstall of FSX Acceleration, all the add-on AC (PMDG, Majestic), ASN, FSUIPC and FTX Global, etc. I think adding some ORBX regions will require a lot a space, and was wondering how to put the ORBX on the HDD and make sure FSX sitting on the SSD can "see" the ORBX files on the HDD? I did not see anything in the FAQ's that shows how. Thanks for the help!
Doug Sawatzky
Somebody please correct me if I am wrong..but I believe all ORBX scenery must be installed on the same drive as FSX .
Nick Cooper
Yes, the ORBX folder must be inside the FSX root folder, however I think the best solution, which I use, is to use symbolic links or junction to solve the problem. Here http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/80818-installation-at-other-than-fsx-harddisk/ is a link to a topic on the same subject and there are two further links in the topic. BuddyDog
Thanks for the link to the info, Nick. Looks like I will have my work cut out for me when the computer comes back.
