petfy
For those that have just made the purchase, does the new FTX Global Vector 1.1 still break AUSP4, in that vector will still corrupt swamp textures in coastal Queensland AUSP4 despite AUSP4 being higher in the scenery priority? John Dow
Not sure why you got that problem. I never had any problems with Global, Vector and AU SP4 on my computer. Not one. And all the installations have been as per the FTX installers, no messing with configs and scenery layers, just installed each package and flew. Two things to consider: If your FSX install is in the program files folder as the FSX install points it by default, there's a higher chance of error. I have mine set to C:\FSX. If you haven't configured your UAC to offer the highest level of accessibility to all folders that FSX might write to, you will also have a higher chance of problems. petfy
As I fly the east coast regularly, I have this post in my mind. http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/71989-vector-interfering-in-australia/ However, I now see that you can disable swamps in the Vector configurator. Hopefully this may bypass the problem. Thanks for you quick reply. Mallard
Hi Petfy, I'll try it out presently and will report back Cheers Mallard
aeronauta
I have the problem with YMML ,1.5 and 2.0, and this appeared after installing V1.1 (FSX) removing the YMML elev with the configurator solves the problem. Jorge
Mallard
Yes, Vector 1.1 "out of the box" still breaks some Australia textures. And I also experienced the elevation issues at YMML (which I solved with Jorge's tip). A bit disappointing, actually. Deactivating the swamps brings things more back to normal, however. petfy
Thanks for the investigation. It had me worried that it would break AUSP4, but your confirmation that removing swamps helps the purchase decision a lot.
Bernd Podhradsky
This is very strange, because I don't see (other than airport elevations) something with lower priority in the scenery config can break something with a higher priority. Disabling swamps in VECTOR helps? Bernd
Mallard
Hi Bernd, in the http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/71989-vector-interfering-in-australia/ thread I added another pic - because now I also saw drastic worsening of the textures south of Cairns. Yes, disabling the swamps in the control panel (or turning vector completely off, which is what I do to also get rid of the irritating elevation problems at Orbx-airports that have suddenly appeared with Version 1.1. - but weren't there with Version 1) reverts things back to normal. It still lies somewhere around #170 mark of the scenery library. Cheers Mallard
