TerribleT Posted January 12, 2014 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Indeed thank you - this aircraft and the B727 were real ground-breakers when they first came out - changed commercial aviation completely. I'll never forget the first flights in either - so high, fast and quiet in comparison to the 4 engine turbo-props and their even noisier piston predecessors. Darn. And they're lose to retiring the MD80 too... Boeing or Airbus better come out with an airliner with rear mounted engines or I'll loose it! Such a shame.
