gordonhutchison
Hi guys, Does anyone know if there is a way to extend the radius of the 3d lights in FTX Global; see my screenshots below - the radius of the visible lights just seems far too close. Is there a setting I have set too low or is this just a limitation of the tech? thanks In this shot you can see the airport (UK2000 Edinburgh) illuminated ahead of me - making the gap between the Orbx 3d lights radius and other scenery more noticible
Holger Sandmann
Hi there, the FTX Global lights are placed as autogen and thus show the same loading behavior as autogen trees and buildings, including distance-dependent infilling (also described as "pop-up"). The "Level of Detail" radius slider controls how far out autogen gets displayed. One can artificially extend that value in the FSX .cfg file -- it's the LOD_RADIUS= parameter in the [TERRAIN] section -- but such a change isn't "sticky" meaning it'll revert back to the maximum slider value (4.5) each time you make changes in the display menu. Cheers, Holger
