Issue at KASE (Aspen)

Please see the screenshot.  Note the "pillar" on the RH side of the airfield up the mountain, and the lights on the tower are displaced about halfway the width of the tower in the Y axis from the aircraft POV.  Also the small stream across the airfield. Using FTXVector, FTXGlobal, and FSGlobal 2010 FTX Edition mesh.

Hi Kevin,


 


The offset lights are an "issue" of FSX that started after the 2nd Service Pack was released, I call it the "SP2 shift" and it effects all high elevation airports, the higher they are the worse it is.  Most folks don't notice but it effects all airports.  I've attached a screenshot from a nearby 10K ft airport, KLXV that graphically shows the shift.

I am finding most of Colorado mountain airports on plateaus, and then deep cavernous sinkholes throughout the rocky mountain passages. It would take me days of effort to post pics. Colorado needs a lot of work unfortunately.
