VH-KDK Posted September 8, 2013 Share Posted September 8, 2013 Being a fairly mountainous country I thought I would do a quick flight across Taiwan. Flying from west to east the mountains rise to 2200m. A bit hard to put a name to a lot of the features as the script is in the local script on the map. 1. Off from Chiayi, the airport is a military one. 2. Passing back over Chiayi sufficient height has been reached to turn and head over the mountains. The town below is Xinying. 3. On the left is Wu San To Reservoir. 4. 5. The beautiful old DC-4 has now gained sufficient height to make it over the mountain range. 6. Looking towards the southern tip of Taiwan. 7. 8. Starting a rapid descent towards Taitung. 9. 10. With both of Taitung's airports in view we shall be landing for the one on the left. 11. 12. 13. About to land at Tainung.
