alexf
Why is he crazy? That's what a STOL aircraft is supposed to do.
Dean (PC Aviator)
Looks to be a fair bit longer than 20m to me, but nonetheless, interesting

Derek McAllan
...all about airspeed... with a good stiff 25kt of headwind, the little Tecnam only needs another 8kts of forward speed to unstall and fly. I've surprised myself a couple of times when towing out in the glider into a headwind when the towplane's gone all out and the glider's leapt off the ground as soon as it starts moving. Bit concerned about those landings though... would've been approaching right at stall speed, and the wind gradient could cause problems near the ground. Cheers, Derek

Andrew 737
A bit a of head wind an STOL plane and your away - like that guy The take off is the not too difficult bit; mostly depends on the plane and the pilots good judgement for the weather, as for Landing, that's the skilful bit. If you listen to the engine you'll notice he was power on when on short final; I find if you come in slightly low and 'drag it in on the power' as soon as you pull off that power it will land almost where you want it too. Still requires 'balls' and practice which ever way you look at it.
