Adam Banks Posted November 18, 2012 Share Posted November 18, 2012 I was born and grew up in Leeds - and my earliest memories are the sight (and sound) of DC-3's and Rapides going in and out of Yeadon Airport (as it was then called). So many years later, the NZ Warbirds DC-3 here in Auckland, sends a shiver down my spine each time I hear those engines. Much of my childhood was spent in the woods around Yeadon - then later, rambling or biking on the Pennines (we didn't have a car). So ... here's my "memory lane" Dh-89 departing early from a very different looking Leeds-Bradford Airport ... on to Ingleborough: Don't tell me they've allowed a housing estate on Ingleborough itself?
