Festijn
Hi, I'm just wondering which setting I need in FSX to get those wounderful sharp mountains in the background. When I'm comparing your screenshot at KJAC and mine I'm starting to cry. FTX picture http://fullterrain.c...s/ss/kjac/2.jpg Mine picture http://farm8.staticf...bb1cb8d69_b.jpg Could you advise me on how I can achieve better sharpness? Thanks in advance Festijn

Jarrad Marshall
Hi Festijn, The single tweak I make to my fsx.cfg file is [TERRAIN] LOD_RADIUS=6.500000, to get nice sharp terrain resolution in the distance. For my screenshots, I bumped up the LOD_RADIUS even further to 8.0 to get the nice crispness. Have a play with your setting, find something the provides a good balance between clarity and performance. I have also made some other tips (as per RODI's link) that may help you too. Cheers, Jarrad

Uberscrew
Hi Jarrad I took your advice and tinkered with the .CFG file and this has made some excellent improvements to VFR flying in the NZSI west coast region - thanks for the tip.
