The RAAF has had some instructors seconded to the Flight Acadamy at Tamworth.

So being the weekend; a flight to Wollongong was arranged to take some students on a flight experience trip in the new 609 Independent Aviation Regiment BA609. The RAAF Regiment has been formed to take advantage of the fast responce capabilities of this revolutionary new aircraft. With it's short take off and short landing; plus vertical takeoff and landing, Defence forces can be rapidly deployed on short notice. This mode of transport will be of full use also to our special forces, for fast in and out operations
