To further enhance your experience you can download a file aisound2.zip from Flightsim.com This package has better AI sounds than FSX. replacement sounds for main sound directory and replacement ai sound folders for main aircraft. To make this work for Orbx traffic. after you have the above package in you desired FSX aircraft. Find your ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAI_AIRCRAFT folder. Inside each aircraft folder there is a sound folder, rename this folder to soundai. Inside that folder you have a sound cfg file, this should be renamed to soundai.cfg if not already named that. Replace the contents with wording below [FLTSIM] alias=SimObjects\Airplanes\B737_800\soundai Do this to each aircraft folder of the planes you wish. If everything is done correctly you will now hear the reverse thrust of each ai aircraft landing also the take off power being applied albeit 700 feet down the runway... Can you let us know whether each of the available sound packages have startup, shutdown, and more than one RPM/n sound? Using the default B737-800 soundai folder is an improvement over the FSX fallback AI sounds (in the main sounds folder) but it's not as good as it could be because it doesn't include startup and shutdown sounds. The default DHC-2 soundai folder is an example of AI sounds that include startup and shutdown, which is great to have when sitting on the ramp. The installer for Alans sound package will by default install the Traffic_Sounds folder into this path: "Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Misc" which will result in no sounds working. You need to either manually move the Traffic_Sounds folder from the "Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Misc" folder into the "Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAI_AIRCRAFT" folder, or point the installer to install into that folder path, for the sounds to work. I'll make a seperate post later with full installation instructions and a preview video of the FTX AI Aircraft at YMML using Alans sound package. Then again, I suppose the basic Traffic_Sounds installer can be used repeatedly and pointed into different locations, which would achieve the same.
