Patrick Scharnowski
Beautiful stuff. Thanks for sharing. This reminds me of a nice quote from the movie Ice Station Zebra: The Russians put our camera made by our German scientists and your film made by your German scientists into their satellite made by their German scientists. In related quotes: Ah... Gunter Went! I wonder where Gunter went.
Ron Attwood
Am I right in saying those aircraft wouldn't have been allowed to fly in Germany with swastikas on them? The fw190 was, in my opinion, one of the 'right' looking aircraft of all time. It follows the premise that if it looks right...it IS right. Beautiful! Patrick Scharnowski
Am I right in saying those aircraft wouldn't have been allowed to fly in Germany with swastikas on them? I'm not sure. With the right lawyer it could fit one of the exception clauses. It's prohibited to display or use them for propanda or similar activities that attempt to further the endeavors of former nationalsocialist organisations and to spread them openly. However, Section 3 of paragraph 86 of the criminal code states that his prohibition doesn't apply when... "...the propaganda material or the act of displaying them serves civil education, the prevention of unconstitutional endeavors, art or science, research or teaching, reporting of contemporary or historical matters or similar purposes." Heiko Glatthorn
I altered this... marking on my semi scale RC FW-190 (closed the outer parts of the swastika). To show my distance to this dark part of history. My Australian, Norwegian, Asian and American friends didn't care though and left it original on their planes.
