NZGS Ground not loading

Recommended Posts

I have North Island installed also and NZGS. If I fly to it from anywhere I get something that looks like the first pic. only if I load at NZGS or do a scenery reload on finals it looks correct like the second Pic. do I need to disable the NZGS files in North Island? also why is it not loading the proper textures unless I do a scenery reload? Hi

I assume you are referring to the greening of the runway surface? That's the only difference I see in the two screenshots.

My first guess would be it is only a P3D compatibility thing that we can do nothing about at this time.

Its not loading the surfaces only the underlying image. Look closer you will see that the first pic has no runway surface or taxiway surface its just the base image showing.

Maybe these help more the first is straight after landing from another airport. The second is once I did a scenery reload or if I load straight in at NZGS. do you know what causes this issue? could it be conflict with ORBZ NZ NI? Its like its not loading something to do with terrain and the runway/taxiway service or GP. Is there anything that can be done or I can help with to fix this? I don't get this issue at any other Orbx NZ field.

Hi Matty

The only difference between your two pics is the runway surface greening. And no, it is not at all the same issue as in the topic you linked.

I still believe it is a P3D issue.

Have you tried doing a full uninstall and reinstall of both the NI and the airport?

We could also ask @Finni Hansen

you keep saying "greening" and all that is doing is dismissing what I'm saying please look closely at the picture, the photo texture under the runway is showing and if you also look the taxiway surface is doing the same. It is the same issue where the texture for the surface is not loading the Ground poly. Yes I have tried a full uninstall and reinstall of the airport and NI. you will also see the taxiway is raised above the terrain around it too. If your not the developer who made this how can you assume you know what's wrong? @Finni HansenI assume your the developer, can you help?

Hello Matty

This is what I see, in your position I would delete any backups, uninstall NZNI and NZGS and do a fresh download and install of each. Verify the Orbx Libraries.

My 2nd pic was flying into NZGS from NZNR, there is something amiss judging by your pics, is your scenery library set correctly ? Mine is below.

I have an AMD Ryzen 7 3700 and a Geforce RTX 2070 Super, not up to your level. I include my P3Dv5 settings for you to compare.

My FPS is set at unlimited in P3Dv5 Display, but is set to 33FPS in the Nvidia Control Panel.

I am not professing I know what is wrong, I have only stated my belief.

Please circle in red the specific issues you do see.

Your first picture shows green coming through on the the runway texture, do you see that?

Your second picture does not, do you see that?

Yes your right it looks greener but whats actually happening to cause that is more complex than saying its green. The GP and terrain is not loading correctly the greening is not greening its the fact that I'm seeing the base image rather than the runway and taxiway surface texture. So yes its greening but thats just the effect not cause.

Sorry Matty, but at present I am out of any further ideas, it is probably something simple, certainly not your rig, if anything else comes to mind I'll let you know .

I add all scenery to a library and its added via addon.xml I noticed all the stub's are below the default scenery files just above the default terrain and scenery entry's at the very bottom of the scenery library. I have moved them up to see if this will fix it. its strange as this is where Orbx placed them not me. yours looks like they install into the sim folder rather than the library outside the sim. and yours are definitely higher in priority.

Yes, mine are all loaded into the P3Dv5 sim folder, apart from Object Flow and Trees which have to be loaded outside.

Do you have Vector for P3Dv5 installed and active ?

I am not certain but I understand that using the addon.xml procedure the entries are haphazard in the scenery.cfg, which is not to my liking :(

I use an addon manager to make them not haphazard. I have vector yes but for v5 it doesn't do anything to airport elevations. I'm gonna try a flight again later.

Yes, exactly, thank you!

Please post a copy of your “scenery.cfg” file and the “add-ons.cfg” and the “scenery_add-ons.xml” file found at C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5.

Please note: Do not open the files and copy and paste the contents, just attach the files.

Hello - may I join the discussion, as I had the same problem. I found out, that this was caused due to the different elevations between P3Dv5 default and Orbx NZGS.

First I deactivated all *NZGS*.bglfiles in the NZNI folder and deactivated the elevation adjustment for NZGS in the scenery\world\scenery folder. After that I corrected the elevation within the Orbx NZSG-Scenery folder to the default elevation - and my problem was gone. Probabely this may help you also. I have attached the corrected ADEP-File - please feel free to try it. When using this new file then you have to deactive the current file (NZGS_ADEP4_FKH.bgl.off).

I think it's worth a try.

Best regards

Bernhard

When it is not working, you can easily go back to the current situation
