Tried everything i can think of! Can't convert ###file(s) on GB south

Recommended Posts

This is my first addon onto my xplane as i have just bought a fresh version. I have 800GB available. I have upload my log.

I was told by email from Orbx:

To resolve this issue please follow these steps:
1 - Open Orbx Central and go to Settings > Downloader
2 - Click on [Clear] under temporary location.
3 - If you made a backup, temporarily move it out of its folder.
4 - Open the specific product page and press [Verify files].

Nothing has changed and i have tried uninstalling it and installing it!

Help would be great thanks

Who sent you the email? Was it me?

Can you confirm that you went through the suggestions made in the email as you only mention you have tried uninstalling reinstalling.

The only further suggestion that I can make at this point is to open Orbx Central/settings/downloader and check that the disk drive setting under "Concurrency" is correct for your set up and then change the "Conversions" setting to Moderate or Low. The attached pics how you what is required:

As this is a problem with Orbx Central processes I am passing this over to @Nick Cooper and @Steve Raycraft to ask for Orbx Central support

Thank you very much for the reply. the way i sorted it was by downloading the addons required for Orbx.

In another issue i have been able to fly around in certain parts of south area but when i load into another area or attempt to fly in it, it brings up the attached message and closes down my sim. I have plenty of storage 700GB+ .

for example i was flying from EGKK - EGPH - EGKK and i flew up there fine on the east coast but returning on the west coast, it halted with the message,

I have attached my xplane log / my central log / pics of the issue / scenery packs . Please let me know if you would like anything else

Thank you very much for all your teams help, extremely appreciated :)

Sorry about your issues.  You state that you resolved some issues by installing "the addons required for Orbx"

Please clarify.

Are you are referring to the prerequisites like VisualC++ etc?

You also state you have 700GB free space. Is that on another drive other than your C drive or is that your C drive and you have no other disk drive. Please advise.

If it is another drive then what is the free space on your C drive?

Once you have answered those questions I can pursue further or pass this over to @Steve Raycraft @Nick Cooper as requested in my initiasl reply post.

Thanks

1. I need to know how you placed the Orbx addons into your new F drive Orbx library.

2. When you double click on one of the TE addons in your Orbx library, does it immediately open up and show the Custom,Overlay & orthos files or does it have yet another folder you need to open before those files appear?

I need you to answer those 2 questions first please so I am more knowledgeable of the potential cause of your problem. It would be simple if I was at your Desktop but being remote requires a lot of questions and answers to and fro. I am sure you understand.

so sorry for not getting back to you. Had some perosnal issues so have been away from the sim recently. I thought i had sorted it all out, however have had some really bizarre crashes on xplane at random points through out GB south region. I dont really get what is happening as i havent got any warning and hve only the log files to go off of. I  have attached 3 separate log files to the same type of crash in three different flights. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

No Problem

You have not answered my 2 questions so please do so.

I have opened one of the logs you attached so far and there are references to missing 3rd party libraries like 3D people etc.

Anyway, please answer my 2 questions and then I can decide what we need to do. Thanks

Please use Orbx Central to uninstall TEGB South.

Now go and Clear Temp folder and remove Backup as advised in the instructions from the email you get and quoted in your first post.

Then open Orbx Central/settings/downloader and check that the disk drive setting under "Concurrency" is correct for your set up and then change the "Conversions" setting to Moderate or Low. The attached pics how you what is required:

Capture.thumb.JPG.77fab06fe8a54e8121b91e70df67de11.JPG

Restart your PC (don't choose Shutdown, but choose Restart)

Now try installing TEGB South again via Orbx central.

This process can take up to an hour depending on your PC specs so please let it run its course.

Report back when installed.
