EIDW Dublin not working

Recommended Posts

Cant get it to work.

I  put it  in the Orbx folder where it apaers among the other airports.

Uninstalled, installed, verified files.

Also cleared Dowloader and backups, resynchronised the simulator.

Nothing as a result.

Uninstalled, en installed again into the community folder, but it simply won',t apear in there.

Orbx assist please.

thank you

Henk

Hello,

the purpose of renaming the Community folder to CommunityX is to disable it.

You should then create a new Community folder and place just EIDW in it.

Then open the simulator and go back to EIDW and see if it works.

The idea is to exclude all other products, in case one of them is interfering.

Once you have completed the test, delete your Community folder and

rename CommunityX back to Community.

This keeps giving me headaches.

Today it did not work right from ther beginning.

Gone thru all the motions again with CommunityX folder etc.

Cant make it work again

I would rather see a refund for this one and stop the frustration and wasted time on it.

Thanks Henk

Hello.

We are told that this is what happened but that it did not show in the simulator.

Isolating it is an attempt to troubleshoot, by removing any other possibly conflicting addons.

Support staff have to assume, at least at first, that the customer has installed the product

and that the simulator is working correctly.

Hello,

I am not sure that I can do so.

I have tried the product and for me it simply works as it should.

Support for it however, is by its developers:

http://mkstudios.pl/support/index.php

Thanks Nick - Disappointingly I have not heard from them.  As I purchased from Orbx I would expect that Orbx handles my issue/enquiry instead of being pushed over to the subcontractor?

Hi Jason

Unfortunately, I think in this case, Orbx is the subcontractor. I believe it would be very difficult to provide support for a product they did not develop, as much as they would like to.

Hmmmm.  I bought this from Orbx.  I get that another studio produced it however Orbx are selling it.  It shows as an Orbx product on my Orbx Central.  So Orbx are NOT the subcontractor - they are the distributor of a third party software.

I guess this is where the help stops and as a side note - MK Studios are not responsive.  Disappointing.

Thanks Doug.

Hi Jason

Have you tried deleting the content.xml, and SceneryIndexes file as Nick's below post,  and also deleting and turning off the rolling cache?

"Hello,

I have fixed mine.

I went here:

where one can safely delete the SceneryIndexes folder and Content.xml.

A restart of MSFS with no other addon products apart from Orbx and the airport EIDW."

I will give that a go Doug.  Will let you know.

Just an FYI - MK have still yet to acknowledge my support request from 2 days ago.

Hi Doug,

Firstly I would like to thank you for helping me.  I was a little short early on and for that I apologise.  That stemmed from being sent over to MK Studios who to this time have not responded to ANY of my support tickets.

What you sent me worked and I now have EIDW back.  Thanks so much however as a favour to me and other Orbx veterans, can you please address this with MK Studios.  They are letting you and your good team down.

Cheers mate.

Jason
