Turbo Otter throttle stuck

Recommended Posts

I recently bought the Miviz Turbo Otter via Central - and installed by Central

I haven't been able to fly it yet because I can't  get the throttle out of the bottom detent

in reverse

I joined the Milviz support for this aircraft and asked for help since Orbx rules seem to be

check developer - not Orbx support. this what I asked:---

Bought through and installed by Orbx
P3D V4.5
no problems with any thing else so far OG because I cant get the A/c started
The Throttle lever is stuck in the reverse position and I cant get any movement of it
therefore I cannot start up
it will not move - either with the control binding (saitek) or with the mouse
I have checked the tighten button to full free
The prop and mixture controls all work as all bound buttons and Axes

the answer I got from Tech support was "-----

""It sounds like XMLTools is not installed. Have you contacted Orbx support yet? There should have been an updated installer from them to address this."

Next step please !!

Hello John,

I have the turbo Otter installed.

I uninstalled XML Tools.

I ran Verify files for it and the first thing it did was install XML Tools again.

Can you try that?

Thanks Nick

I searched thro' all milviz Otter - P3D4 - but couldn't find XML Tools

where would I find it if it is there??

Did the verify files in Central - still no mention of XML tools at the bottom of page

Open'd Otter in P3D 4  - still throttle stuck in  reverse

Strange that central doesnt show what yours's does on your page

Has an update been done to general public on Otter as suggested by Milviz above

Hello John,

in the meantime, XML Tools is freeware.

Here is a copy, with its simple installer.

XMLTools64.zip 439.2 kB · 2 downloads

Thanks again Nick --- that seems to have done the trick - although it doesnt show in Central like yours

engine starts with throttle free - all i need now is to get the binding for the mixture to hold position

I  have been having a good look at Orbx NA regions and see a few spots where i want to try it up there

Hi John,

I'd highly recommend reading the manual for the Turbo Otter carefully; you will find instructions on how to adjust the some of the functions controlled by xml tools to your liking.  There is also info on the subject on the Milviz Turbo Otter forum.

Cheers

Hi Larry - G'Day

Thanks for the advice and I will take it - despite my normal re-action to Instructions ---- and Menus

I did "Peruse' the book trying to find the answer -- but it was the visit to the Otter forum that led

me to Nicks advice.

I am not really a tweaker  - so to speak - being quite a dill at such things and being strictly

an "out of the box" kind of bloke - but I will try to find the detail

BTW - have been giving the Orbx NA addons a bit of a Belting this week - starting at Tacoma Narrows

and at the moment landed overnight at Katchikan  at the top of Pacific Fiords

It all looks great for my Otter - lotsa water and snow and the odd bit of Grass and Tarmac
