EGPH ATIS

Recommended Posts

Hi,
I will quote my post regarding EGPH and EGHX:

"EGPH (and few more airports) is developed by Gaya for Orbx according and following Orbx demand (unlike Vienna, Kos, the coming Berlin Tegel and more).

Like any other work-order Gaya developed by the client demand and tests and according the features the client looking for (each client with it's own needs, deadlines and the elements they want or doesn't want).

I hope it will assist you understand better the situation.

The same apply also for EGNX, KEYW, KFAT, LFKX, LFLJ. "

Those days we are discussing with Orbx potential updates for both.

Hello

I am not sure what that answer means?  I am looking for the ATIS frequency, nothing to do with lights not aligned etc.  Is the developer saying there is no ATIS frequency? Can that not be setup in WED and then just verify files in Central?

@Dr_Watson this is the official response I got from an inhouse enquiry I made.

"Gaya looks after support for LGKO & LOWW.

EGPH & EGNX are going to be updated (new apron plus reported bugs) and that won't happen for a month I estimate."

Ok Jon, thanks for the info, I appreciate your time and honesty.  I'm not gonna say what I think of the way the support has went with the non Orbx scenery.   Nothing like what it used to be, I think that whole setup with these 3rd parties needs to be reviewed before it's copied pasted in the new MS sim....just my mind speaking.....I don't fancy your job mate!

Cheers

@Dr_Watson, I do not own EGPH, but there must be an apt.dat file in the Earth nav data subfolder.  Open it with a text editor and insert the following line somewhere before the ending 99 line:

1050 131355 ATIS

Save the change and you should then hear the XP ATIS for Edinburgh when you restart there.

Ok, sounds easy!  My attempts at atc frequency editing within WED have not been so successful, will try this and let you know. Cheers

Ok , working perfect, many thanks!!  The arrival and departure info is missing and the current ATIS letter is missing but that's no big deal.

And now I know how to fix and update some other scenery with similar issues!

It's a Gaya production, I fixed their (and 99% of scenery producers) response to the truth.

"Gaya looks after support for LGKO & LOWW.

EGPH & EGNX are never going to be updated (new apron plus reported bugs) as we are all on the bandwagon for MSFS...good luck suckers.

The fix (as is often the case), is a simple one, and can be done by someone with a little knowledge on the subject.  I don't know why Orbx do not have a contract clause that allows them to do these small fixes for them.  It puts Orbx in a very poor light when all they team up with vendors to get their products and cut through the Orbx sales system, but the support is zero, they use to be specialists in that for ALL products sold.

Wont hold my breath, been almost a year since I reported these issues and still awaiting......

Not sure why I want to purchase from Orbx again to be honest, very poor.

Orbx is only acting as a retail outlet for Gaya on EGPH. You need to direct your comment onto their website please. It is not an Orbx product. Orbx supports fully any addon that is made by Orbx. Other deelopers who wish to be a marketing partner within the Orbx retail outlet of Orbx Direct are responsible for their own Support system.

Have you raised a Support Ticket at Gaya?

@Raz Goeta @Greg Jones for comment on this apparent long standing issue, or has it been fixed in an update?

A temporary fix is offered within this topic by mauricecohen

I agree that a formal fix should have been offered by now however it is possible, thanks to fellow customer offering, to fix the issue.
