davidzill
I have had FTX NorCal installed since it came out. With the release of True Earth Northern California, should I uninstall FTX NorCal or keep them installed parallel to eachother?
Gulfstreamtwo
This has been asked and answered a few times already for this area and others. Here's a recap: There's no need to uninstall FTX NorCal from a performance or visual perspective. With both active, the sim automatically shows photoreal scenery over landclass for an area where there are both. TE looks better because it's photoreal, but is summer only. The FTX regions tend to cover a larger area. TE Washington and PNW are a good example. The latter extends all the way north into Canada to meet Pacific Fjords. TE WA stops just south of the US-Canada border (due to the much higher cost of Canadian photo coverage). FTX has seasons, so it you want scenery that visually shows seasons other than summer, you'll want FTX. Summary - for the relatively small storage footprint on any FTX regioinal product, unless you never want to fly in other than summer, leave them both on. For other than summer flying, simply disable TE in the Add-ons menu in P3D. I added arrows to the screenshot to show you how to find and where to uncheck TE Northern California. ChuckOman
Agree ! But does anyone know if you have both TE and the corresponding FTX region installed, do the small GA airports with their static aircraft and peopleflow that make FTX so fun for GA pilots still pop through ?
