  1. Just took the NGXu for a spin at Orbx KBUR w/ true earth socal. Stutter city. I mean BAD.
  2. After multiple flights I can concur with confidence this mostly resolves the stuttering fix. You will notice as you approach denser scenery a slight momentary stutter as scenery loads, however I believe this is normal.
  3. I never look at framerate counters anymore. I have a 144Hz 49" curved super ultra-wide monitor and I judge all performance based off overall smoothness.
  4. So I am happy to report this has been resolved. Apparently this is a well documented issue discussed in the LM P3D forums. Its a native P3D issue and basically causes erratic and high CPU/GPU usage resulting in the stuttering. The fix? Right click the P3D desktop icon, click Compatibility, and check the box 'Disable fullscreen optimizations.' I conducted a test flight from Orbx's KSAN to FlightBeam's KSFO, flying over both TrueEarth Southern and Northern California. There was no noticeable stuttering like before...buttery smooth the whole way. There was some small stuttering approaching San Francisco, due to the scenery loading, however this is normal, nothing like before. I recommend Orbx developers list this in the trouble shooting true earth issues.

  6. Just did this fix, installed TE Northern California, and I can say with my fingers crossed the severe stuttering is gone!
  7. I had severe stuttering with the true earth northern CA /Flightbeam KSFO bundle so bad I uninstalled it. I will give this a try tomorrow. I’m glad to hear this at least worked for someone. The scenery is so beautiful.
  8. I know its been awhile since this post was posted, just wanted to add I do not think the current rendition of dynamic lighting at ESKS is what developers had in mind. Attached is a screen shot. It's as if there are about 50 100,000 lumen LED spotlights shining on the apron. I mean, It's almost whitewashed looking outside the aircraft.
  9. I have a higher-end machine so P3D otherwise runs well on my system with most settings on the higher end. Everything was smooth everywhere in 4.5 and even smoother in 5.1 with DX12 support, except in one area...True Earth Northern California. Then as TE Southern California came out...nice smooth takeoff off Burbank then here we go again, max cpu/gpu usage as I pointed towards long Beach. Out of Frustration today I have come to the personal conclusion these scenery packages are too complex for today' PC's, I uninstalled both. Perfectly smooth performance now with normal GPU/CPU usage.
  10. Yes, I went from 4.5 to 5.1. Interesting enough, True Earth was running great on 4.5, and 5.1 was introduced as well as DX12 support, performance tanked.
  11. I think there is indeed something DX12 related. Like a said, there are so many posts regarding True Earth with people of many variations of PC having similar issues. Terrain maps can be very complex as far as how they use RAM, VRAM, CPU, etc. For example, I am a avid DCS user. When they released their Nellis AFB NTTR map, many people reported high VAS and VRAM usage, CTDs, etc. Developers found several lines in the coding which were optimized now worked perfectly for everyone after a quick update. I asked if anyone had True Earth running smoothly in a post and no one reported back.
  12. I understand PMDG aircraft are very resource hungry. I’m a longtime Orbx customer. I own almost every Orbx product. However, the problems with TrueEarth occurred with the same results a lower-fidelity default aircraft as well. I have a 5.3GHz cpu, a top of the line videocard. I run most of my sliders in the high settings all over the world in some very dense sceneries. Sometimes I’ll see an understandable dip in performance, especially with multiple cloud layers, etc. I loved True Earth in P3D V4.5, ran very smooth, I was even able to find my own house, identify known trails, etc. I was in aww of how real it looked! My first flight in 5.1 taking off from Flightbeam’s KSFO, the aircraft was stuttering at the moment of rotation. Stuttering that would result in 2-3 second pauses at a time. I checked my cpu...both CPU and GPU were at 100%. GPU temps nearing peak. This occurred in many locations in the scenery, random instances of sustained long pausing stutters with 100% CPU/GPU usage. Dialed back sliders and got the same results. I suspect due to my peak cpu/gpu usage in 5.1, True Earth is having DirectX 12 issues, and is not yet fully ready for P3D 5.1 without further optimizations to ensure DX12 is processing textures properly. Luckily, even though I had peak temps, I had a water cooling system. The GPU usage I saw could easily damage a video card. I have moved slider settings, and even uninstalled P3D and spent over 8 hours painstakingly installing add-ons to correct this. There are several post in the forums of people reporting the same behaviors specifically in 5.1. Like I said it performed flawlessly in 4.5, didn’t even notice a performance hit. Might be worth taking a close look at!
  13. I love Orbx sceneries....just something off with Trueearth. I uninstalled both tonight (S and N California) until a major update addressing performance is released.
  14. Me too, not sure if it's covid-19 factors resulting in little to no customer support. I would love for the developers who created Trueearth to install it, fly around, and ask themselves, "Gee, is this performance normal?"
