SteamingSpoon1
Hi, I recently bought FSXScenery's KBOI scenery but use Orbx CRM at the same time. I disabled the two files in FTX_NA/FTX_NA_CRM05/Scenery associated with KBOI to avoid any conflicts but there no seem to be huge holes between the runways and taxiways. It seems that there is an elevation conflict here. How can I completely make KBOI independent of FTX CRM modifications such that it is only the FSXScenery scenery that represents the airport, while CRM takes care of the city/region? I uninstalled CRM and then tested the scenery, in which case it worked fine. Can anyone point me to the right files to delete/disable to avoid this? I use Orbx Global and CRM without Vector. Thank You!
Nick Cooper
Hello, welcome to the forums. The way to remove an Orbx added airport is to search the 05\scenery folder of the region in question for the ICAO code of the airport that you want to disable. Typically, there will be three files. Disable them by renaming them to .bgl.off. In some cases, there may also be a file in scenery\world\scenery as well.
medx421
To tag on to NickN's response, check the prepar3d\scenery\world\scenery folder for a file named: ADE_FTX_CRM_KBOI_elevation_adjustment.bgl If the file is present, disable it.
SteamingSpoon1
Hi guys, Thanks for your responses - I disabled all three files in scenery05\scenery associated with KBOI as well as the elevation adjustment file in scenery\world\scenery but the issue still hasn't been resolved. I've contacted FSXScenery for a replacement AFCAD (which they've sent) - I'll test it out and report back.
SteamingSpoon1
Update: The new AFCADs from the developer have not resolved the issue either. I am not sure what to do at this point.
Stewart Hobson
Is your KBOI installed above all Orbx products? It is the case with my installation and I don't see the "canyons" you are seeing. The fact that you do not have Vector installed is not an issue, since CRM uses its own data.

Yes, it was installed above all Orbx sceneries but it didn't work that way, unfortunately. Just a little update guys: thanks to replacement AFCADs provided by @Troyboy (which essentially correct the scenery's elevation to match CRM's) the FSXScenery scenery is now functioning perfectly and blending in well with Orbx CRM. If anyone's facing the same issue, you can DM either me or him and we should be able to send them over. Issue resolved!
Stewart Hobson
Interesting! I'm curious why my version of KBOI works as is, without a corrected AFCAD. How new or old is your version? Edited June 25, 2020 by Stewart Hobson

How new or old is your version? Hi, I downloaded it from SimMarket just a couple days ago so I believe it's the latest version (if there even are any versions) and my CRM is definitely fully up to date. Stewart Hobson
My version was for FSX originally (in 2014), and I just ported it over to P3D. Running v4.5hf2 and it looks ok. The only difference I've noticed is that the areas between the taxiways and the runways, those areas where you saw the depressions, are not green in my version. That may be because P3D has assigned different textures to those areas. Anyway, the scenery works for me as is, so I'm going to leave it alone. There may be differences in the city of Boise itself, but I haven't checked those.

Oh - maybe they made some changes to the elevation in a future release version after the one released for FSX - I'd say you should stick with that in that case. Fun little fact - the areas between the taxiways are not green IRL since there's no grass there; so your version is actually more accurate. Stewart Hobson
Thank you for the added information. It's a beautiful area up there in Idaho and your area of Boise. I enjoy flight simming to all those small airports in Idaho once in awhile. Cheers! Stew
sfs56
I am having the same issues described by SteamingSpoon regarding FSXcenery's KBOI Boise airport scenery. I'd like to get the replacement AFCAD file that he reported solved the elevation issues / conflict with Orbx CRM, but I do not have enough posts yet to be able to send a PM. It would be greatly appreciated if you could PM me with that file. Thanks so much.
