active Error A communication error occurred when trying to perform this action

Help! I reinstalled FSX after my teenagers upgraded my PC to Windows 10. When I try to install Libraries and Australia scenery I get the message above. I've disabled Avast but no joy. Any suggestions?

Perhaps they removed the prerequisites.

Hello Jimmy, welcome to the forums.

Is that AU1 or AU2 that you are trying to install. If AU2, make sure you have no installs of AU1, Holgermesh or the Tasmania demo, but 1st check as per Nick's post.

Many thanks for the suggestions. It's AU1 I'm trying to install - it was active on my previous instal. I'll try launching FSX before trying again but it does show up in Orbx Central. I had no joy with the prerquisite files - "another version is already installed" It looks like I have to uninstall C++ and its components and try again.

There is no problem regarding AU2 then

But you must ensure you have all the prerequisite software installed as per Nick's article before moving forward.
