caleb1
The runway at hidden meadows on friday island is elevated above the rest of the airport. does anyone know a solution to this. I as well as some others were having this issue at schoolhouse field a while ago here: but wondering if there is a solution for hidden meadows. Keeps giving me propstrikes on the a2a C182 whenever i attempt to leave the runway. Thanks
Nick Cooper
Hello, are you using an addon mesh?
caleb1
Thanks for the reply nick, No other addon mesh was enabled at the time of the above screenshot I posted. I changed the mesh resolution to 5m (it was at 1m previously), now it looks like this. Its still elevated, but its more of a gradual hill instead of a vertical cliff. Is this what it is supposed to look like?
Nick Cooper
That is what you see in my image too, so I guess that it is.

While we are at it, I have another question, not super critical but just curious. Im noticing your ground textures in your screenshot seem to be a little higher res than mine. I have all the texture resolution settings turned up, just curious what setting I might be missing to have higher res terrain settings? Thanks. Nick Cooper
I have used a replacement detail1.bmp file. To see its effects, high res textures must be ticked.

Nick Cooper
Yes, there, sorry to abbreviate it too much for you. You will need to search the internet for the wide variety of replacement detail1.bmp textures and choose one that you like.

Some people here say they are using one from Orbx... http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=137112 does Orbx have one?

Stewart Hobson
Is there a reason Caleb1 cannot bump up his texture resolution to 2048x2048?
Nick Cooper
Hello Stewart, I doubt it but I also doubt that the ground textures are 2048.
Stewart Hobson
Hello, Nick. That's a good point. Then that setting for texture resolution is not related to ground textures, but only interior/exterior textures of aircraft, etc.?
Nick Cooper
I think the setting is certainly good for the detail1.bmp, otherwise no one would do a 4096 one. I just don't think that the ground textures themselves are any more than 1024.
