LEBB Bilbao runway markings & PAPI offset

KAB

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have installed Bilbao in Prepar3Dv5 and notice a few things that I want to check out as intentional or not. The runway markings on the touch down zone appear to be double and the PAPI seems to be offset by the position on the ground image. This mainly applies to runways 30 and 10. No other issues have been noted so far.

I have installed the scenery via Orbx Central in to my library folder and I have verified files.

Kind regards

Kjell A.

Pending an intervention by ... Marcus Nyberg  I applied the modification of Marcus for Orbx LEBB for P3D 4.5
and this is the result:

To make this change you need to download the file from post # 39

https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/189440-lebb-why-is-performance-so-dreadful/

For P3D 5 I did the following procedure:

Open Orbx Central and head to the configuration tool for Bilbao. Uncheck "Statics Terminal".

In Orbx Library folder ... \ P3Dv5 \ LEBB Bilbao Airport \ Orbx \ FTX_GLOBAL \ FTX_AA_LEBB \ Scenery

Change ORBX_LEBB_GP_P3D_Objectflow.xml in the scenery folder to ORBX_LEBB_GP_P3D_Objectflow.OFF

From the file written LEBB Revert ground back to v1.zip, put in scenery of LEBB

LEBB_ADEP4_SL_NoStatic.bgl

LEBB_GP_P3D.BGL

and in Texture

asphalt.dds

Obviously it's a test and I recommend to do a backup of scenery and texure of LEBB before the modification.

Hey,

When I made that update they had just redone parts of the runway markings so they were double at some areas. You can still see it on runway 10 on google maps, seems like it has faded quite a bit and cant be seen on the other runway in the newer imagery material though. The intensity of the ghost markings and direct placement of them can of course be debated but in general i think it's quite a nice touch.

As for PAPI-placement, it seems to be a bit off. I'll take a note on that if we would make an update.

You are of course free to follow Robpol471's guide if you like, just note that you will effectively revert back the scenery to the initial release state with quality loss in ground textures and detailing and potentially other artefacts. That solution was presented as a fix if you suffer from severe performance issues and nothing else.

Cheers,

Marcus
