buckzx12r Posted March 18, 2020 Share Posted March 18, 2020 All my Orbx scenery works great.But my Florida scenery is almost impossible to start a flight from,because it hangs.But,if i go to Key West first,then it boots,and i then go to whatever Florida airport i want to.I notice that Key West is right at the top of the scenery index,but all the other Orbx,Fla.Ca,and Washington are grouped near the bottom.Why is it so hard to start in Fla? Attach your scenery_packs.ini for review as the layering sequence may not be optimised. Also what type of Disk is TE Florida on, and is it on the same disk as Key West? Jon Clarke Posted March 20, 2020 Share Posted March 20, 2020 @buckzx12r The scenery pack is a bit of a mess First of all you need to open your Custom Scenery folder and remove from there the SAM library. You have 3 entries at the top of your .ini all referring to SAM library. This will be causing confusion and unnecessary file searching when loading XP. You should only have one copy of SAM and it should be in Resources. Check your Resources folder for any duplicate copies of SAM. You need to that before you place the revised scenery pack.ini into your Custom Scenery folder otherwise XP will start to overwrite the scenerypack.ini with those multiple SAM entrieas again. It is going to take me a while to sort out your .ini but I want to give you a guide as to how it should be layered correctly, in particular how Orbx TE series should be placed. The only entries that should be above Global Airports are 3rd party freeware and payware airports. Nothing else. You currently have things like CityScapes SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/C Cincinnati/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/C Columbus/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/C Milwaukee/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/C Pittsburgh/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/C Toronto/  and global texture replacements like  SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/SFD Global 1 Urban Textures/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/SFD Global 2 Terrain Textures/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/SFD Global Autogen/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/SFD Global Forests/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/SFD Global Landmarks/ all are above Global Airports and will be masking the content of sceneries lying below in the layering sequence. Please also remove SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/z_miami-ortho/ from your Custom Scenery folder as Miami is included in TE Florida and will cause issues like hanging while XP tries to work out what to display.  You have all the Orbx TE series addons lying at the bottom of the pile. You have SFD Forests enabled but also have Terra Flora so SFD Forests is overwriting your paid for Terra Flora. You need to choose which you want, either Terra Flora or SFD Forests. If you want to have Terra Flora enabled then just remove the SFD Forests part of the SFD Global addon. I will redo your scenerypack but due to time constraints ask that you keep a spare copy somewhere safe otherwise if you do not make the corrections i have outlined above, the revised scenerypack will get overwritten. Note that you have several duplicate files in your Custom Scenery folder. For example you have Orbx LOWI, LOWI Demo and LOWI Innsbruck_1.4. You need to remove 2 of these after you decide which version you want to use. I have ensured that Orbx addons have received the correct and prioritised layering considering that this is an Orbx support forum I need to ensure that Orbx addons are correctly layered. As a rule of thumb there is an acknowledged logical layering sequence for addons in XP and I list them below in Top down sequencing for your future reference, so that you will be able to make scenery_packs.ini checks after you install new addons, to ensure they are correctly layered. 1. 3rd party freeware and payware airports 2. XP's Global Airports 3. Orbx True Earth addons 4. Scenery enhancement addons like SFD Global, VFR landmarks, CityScapes, etc 5. Libraries. Can be placed anywhere in reality but best to keep all together. 6. If relevant Ortho4xp Overlays 7. If relevant, Ortho4xp imagery files 8. If relevant, 3rd party global mesh like HD Mesh and/or UHD Mesh  This should help with the hanging problem you say you are experiencing. Please note though that I have mentioned a couple of files that you need to remove so please do so, especially the Miami ortho file.  scenery_packs.ini  Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
