Global HD Buildings Reduced Texture Size - Status?

Hi.  It's been 6 months since the informational update that the reduced texture sizes are "in the works".

 

Would you please provide a status update on this?

 

I'd purchase this today if the reduced texture sizes were available.  I'm not going to wait much longer.

Hi.  Still no response from the developer.  I really would like to have the new building textures and models so can someone at least answer a couple questions?

 

1. Do the textures use bitmaps so that I can set TextureMaxLoad to 2048 in the cfg file effectively overriding the 4096 resolution?

 

2. Is it possible to convert the textures to 2K myself using Ordenador or TextureManager?

Hello,

in the absence of an answer from either developer, I can tell you that the textures do have bitmaps.

Opening one of them in Windows Photo Viewer reveals that.

I can't see why you should not be able to convert the textures yourself, from the release date, some users

have posted that they had done this.

For me, simply setting the simulator to 2048 or even 1024 seems to be the easy answer.
