Transfer library to new hard drive?

Step 3 says this, " Remove the library that you would like to move (remember: this doesn’t delete the actual files). " Remove it from where? Within the libraries settings I have an edit option. Or do I move the folder on the current drive to new drive. Kind of confusing!

Hello,

in the library box in Orbx Central, the top section is simply the name that you give to the library.

It can be virtually anything, to suit yourself.

The lower box is the path to the library folder.

To move a library, first remove the library from Orbx Central.

As it states, this does nothing to the files.

Then move the entire library folder, the one that contains all the files, making sure not to

disturb the contents of the folder at all.

Once moved, create a new Orbx Central library, giving it a name of your choice but also the exact path to

the new location in which you have placed the library folder.

Well I guess I'm missing something! The only options I have is, edit, delete or create new library. I understand about the path where I currently have my library. I'm not understanding "first remove the library from Orbx Central". I guess I'm not the smartest tool in the shed. Remove it how?

Hello,

the Orbx Central user guide does explain what to do.

Here is the relevant extract.

It states the same as I did and if you start and get stuck, please

come back and ask the specific question that you need the answer to

so that you can move on to the next stage.

Moving a library to another location

Moving a library is painless with Central and can be achieved in a few steps only:

  1. Go to Settings > Libraries.

  2. Note the directory of the library you’d like to move.

  3. Remove the library that you would like to move (remember: this doesn’t delete the actual files).

  4. Close Central by right-clicking on the tray and selecting “quit”.

  5. Move the directory to the new location in your operating system. This step may take a while depending on your disk speed.

  6. Start Central again

  7. Open Settings, and then the Libraries page

  8. Press ‘Create New Library’

  9. Select the new library location, give it a name and then press ‘Save’.

Central will automatically scan the library for installed products, and then configure your simulators appropriately.
