I have downloaded TE North and noticed 2 North Overlay folders. Deleted everything and downloaded again and its downloaded 2 North Overlay folders. Is this expected?

To answer your question one Overlay is for the vast majority of TEGB North and is created by Orbx. The 2nd is a default only Overlay covering the parts of Northern Ireland for which there is no affordable data available. The NI govt wanted to charge Orbx ridiculous money for the OSM type data, so Orbx just included default overlay for that part of TEGB North.

Hello,

welcome to the forums.

Yes it is.

Why would you " Delete everything and download again"?

Persumably you have unlimited bandwidth on a very fast connection.

Thank you.

I deleted everything as I merged both folders as I didn't know it should have been 2 folder. I have 350Mb broadband so doesn't take long to download.

Even then, you could have simply deleted the folder that you corrupted and run Verify files.

750 MB versus 22 GB.

I only had 1 folder as I copied the contents of the small folder into the big folder. Anyway my broadband is unlimited so no harm. Thanks for your help.

Exactly, you had one folder, which you chose to corrupt.

You could therefore have deleted your corrupt folder and run Verify files.

That would have replaced the two folders that you decided were incorrect.

Your unlimited broadband is fine for you.

However, you are one of a very large number of customers and downloading

a product, corrupting it and then downloading another 22 GB when 750 MB

would have repaired the damage, if done by too many could eventually lead

to a need to restrict customer downloads.
