resolved Fairoaks - No Vehicles?

Hi,

Just having a slight problem with Fairoaks.

When I load XP11 to Fairoaks a pop-up says there is a problem loading the scenery (see part of the log.txt below)

It looks like I don't have a Vehicles directory.

Is this something from XP11 or Fairoaks that's not loading?

I have also verified the files from FTX Central 3 which says all is fine. 

 

I do have a load of vehicle .dds files but they are in the Fairoaks/objects folder not a vehicles folder.

Got exactly the same problem.... and no cars and vehicles - but static planes ok. Perhaps is some library missing ?

Yes, me to - getting exactly the same warning message come up. I installed the latest Library v1.5, but hasn't got rid of that 'scenery may not be shown properly' warning message.

Yes. Same problem here. I have also tried to use the validate function for the global OrbX lib. But it said all is okay. So I hope either an updated version of the lib or of the scenery itself will be provided. Until then I will ignore the failure message for now. Since it seems that it has other effects then the missing vehicles.

Hello,

the latest OrbX plane 11 library version is 1.55.

If you haven't installed the libraries at all, then return to the product page, scroll to the bottom,

click on the libraries link and add them to your account.

Then install them using FTX Central.

If you have already done this, try Verify files.

I have just tried it (since it seems that FTX Central does not know yet there is a newer version). But when I click on the "Manual Download" at https://orbxdirect.com/product/orbxlibs-xp11 I get a "Not found" error (HTTP result code 404). I will retry it later again.

Unless you are using a Mac, Verify files in FTX Central should be all that is required.

I have just retried it via FTX Central (Windows 10). When I click on "Verify Files" the application scan my folder (~ 1300+ files). And then it says "Download complete. Orbx Libraries (version 1.50) as been installed." as Windows notification. When I check the related folder inside my "Custom Scenery" folder of my only X-Plane 11 installation I see that none of the time stamps has changed. Also the content of the version.txt files says "Orbxlibs for X Plane 11 Version 1.50". The last thing I could try is to make a backup of this lib, uninstall it, and then reinstall it via FTX Central. Maybe this works.

 

Update: no, this has also not worked. I have uninstalled the lib and then installed it again. FTX has downloaded something above 300 MB. But it is still 1.50.

I see that in the release announcement, the requirement is for version 1.45 only.

Could it be that somehow X Plane 11 is not seeing the libraries?

I have just checked my scenery_packs.ini and I see all sceneries and libraries I have also in my "Custom Scenery" folder. So on this side is nothing missed. I have now also made a file search for one of the object (Veh_HiluxX_black.obj) files which is missing by X-Plane when loading EGTF. And this file does not exist anywhere in my X-Plane installation.

I've tried to update OrbxLibs as I have v1.50 installed.

No luck, FTXC3 says it's the latest version.

Same for me....  Other ORbx airports [Stapleford, Chicherchester are ok). No cars at all in Fairoaks. I noted another problem in Orbx Elstree... in the Ian Emms shots, there are 2 guys in the Elstree Control tower... and in mine nobody inside the tower (other orbx people are there)... thx in advance for your help for fairoaks bug.

I hope OrbX will fix the manual download too soon. So that the updated lib is available also without using FTX Central. Currently it links still to a not existing resource.

 

But you can ignore the warning in X-Plane. The missing lib or better the missing objects in the lib should not avoid loading the scenery. The only effect is normally that you will not see all elements. In this case mainly no cars on and around the field.

BRILLIANT - that's fixed the problem! Library v5.5 did the job! Thanks for that OrbX. I now have no warning pop up window and the vehicles are now showing at Fairoaks Airport.

Updated to Library v1.55 and Fairoaks now displays. Still no parked vehicles though.

you can now download the X Plane 11 libraries for Mac on this page:

so they are no longer included in the cross platform download.

Great. It would also be nice if the download link at the page https://orbxdirect.com/product/orbxlibs-xp11 could be corrected sometimes. Or maybe better if the link from the original product page like EGTF would no go to this page but also the the support page above.
