flying_fish Posted January 28, 2019 Share Posted January 28, 2019 By chance I flew this approach in P3D last evening. It is an RNAV (RNP) approach, not an ILS approach. The B737 FMC is able to 'build' a computed glide slope using the GNSS GPS data is it receives, and the VOR/DME position data. This is like a synthetic ILS and shows on on the FD like an ILS path. In fact the LOWI RNAV is unusual because the VOR/DME position should be disengaged because is it not as accurate as the GNSS data from the GPS, and precision is vital at LOWI. My reason for suggesting them is because navigraph supply databases each month for both your simulator and all the add-ons so there is a single nav data source for all to prevent errors, whereas the data within P3D is out of date. This site http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html claims to have a means of updating it if you wish to for free. I don't think Orbx uses AFCAD files any more - I think the data is coded in Westsim_Innsbruck_APX.bgl or Westsim_Innsbruck_APX_CVX.bglin FTX_AA_LOWI these will overwrite to files in the world scenery when LOWI is installed.
