active EGHI - some issues

First of all thank you for Southamtpon !

 

Hate to complain so fast after release, but I face some issues. First, when I load a flight on EGHI, I get an error message from X-plane:

Also, I noticed that at least in two locations there is missing grass. And the grass I see looks different than the one in the screenshots:

Also your last screenshot (ORBX) has wrorng airport tag.
 

My scenery objects settings are on Maximum.

 

I also upload a part of the log.txt where it seems to my  that many objects like static aircraft failt o load.

 

I tried uninstall/reinstall and check files, but no luck.

Any ideas what is going wrong?

This is probably too simple to be influencial but, as I'm not seeing any issues here, did you also install the library package advised on the product page or the TrueEarth product as well?

Thank you martin. I can now report that the library fixed the error message and I now get static aircraft.

 

However the 3d grass still does not look like in the official screenshots.

Unfortunately not. I have my object slider to max as suggested by ORBX for TrueEarth.

I think I'm getting much the same as yourself: I get the grass but not the flowers for example. Perhaps they didn't make it into the final product.

I'm tempted to go with the idea they didn't make it into the final cut - as I'm seeing more grass in some areas like along the inside at the holding point for runway 02.

Yes, it coud be it.. Not big of an issue, just a matter of accuracy of what it is advertised. The official screenshot looks much better in  my opinion , especially with the full grass near the red/white fence.

There's some fun going on with the trains north of the airport too, John mentioned a patch in the future to update where the Ford factory is - it would be cool if they could update the trains to SWR as the trains they have there are outdated now and should really be grey now but there's something fuky going on with some static trains clipping into a railway bridge there.

Hi guys,

 

Note that the different grass shown in some of the preview screenshots was replaced by an all -new, higher detail volumetric version in the final stages of the development.

 

This new grass is friendlier on performance than the original models.

Thanks for the reply @Greg Jones However, allow me to say that it is a bit deceiving advertising using screenshots that we cannot see on the product that we buy. The advertised grass is much more immersive than what we get in some locations. Especially if you look at the first screen I posted and what I was expected to see when I ordered. Its completely different as for grass immersion. I bet you wouldn't use that screen in the product page. I think it would be more fair to include the grass advertised and offer an optional other grass option for better performance through FTX Central.

Well, I am having the same problem as everyone else regarding not loading planes from the Open Scenery library. I have TE GB South and the Open X library installed. My Scenery.ini file looks ok (TE GB South are the bottom 3 entries and EGHI with Open Scenery X are the top 2 entries). Any ideas?

OK everyone, problem solved - Open X Scenery library is not the same as the ORBX library so I downloaded and installed it, Voila! Static aircraft are now on display and everything looks ok now. Whew!

I had the issue as posted above, now resolved by installing the Orbx library objects for X-Plane 11.

I hadn't originally done that as the product description said that the prerequisite was either the library or TE GB South. I'd already installed TE GB South prior to EGHI, so I'm not sure why this fixed the problem.

While we're on the topic, is there an option to choose between static and no static aircraft? This is a deal breaker for people like me who do all their flights on VATSIM.

There was actually some last minute changes to the grass - it's not an error  We started promoting Southampton using the natureflow grass you see in the screenshots, however we replaced it with new grass just before release due to an error it caused. 

 

It is generally understood that pre-release screens are subject to change, however I will take the screenshots with the old grass off the product page.

We changed the grass in the final release because beta testing showed Z-bias issues using ported grass, so we opted to go with more efficient native XP grass.

 

We will remove the offending screenshots on the product page.

You must have the Orbx Libraries for X-Plane, however the scenery will still work without TE GB (you may get some visual anomalies such as missing buildings, but it still works)

hi did you guys no that the radar tower is not rotating also we could do with sum red static beacon lights on sum of the Antenor's around the field etc
