Fabio7371
I took a trip to the airport and when landing I fell through the first runway and landed hard on the runway below and found a Cessna parked at the end. Not Cool! How do I fix this? I have FTX Global Base. Open LC North America and Pacific Northwest to cover this area. No other airport or add-ons other than ORBx and FSX SE. Thank you
Stewart Hobson
Hi, there! This airport is actually WA05. And that Cessna at the end of the runway is misplaced. It should be off the your right on the grass. So something is goofy with your installation. I cannot repeat your elevation problem at this airport either. Sorry I can't be more help. Fabio7371
It is listed as K8W5 http://www.airnav.com/airport/8W5 The VFR chart shows it as 8W5 When was it changed? Interesting it is a nice airport.
Stewart Hobson
I don't know the answer, but the airport is carried as WA05 in FTX PNW. This may explain the problem you're having.
Fabio7371
You mean that global, LC and PNW have it duplicated? Because I saw two airports one on top of the other slightly skewed.
Fabio7371
I rebooted the computer to make sure... No Joy! Next new glasses. I am seeing double runways.
Stewart Hobson
Perhaps you have some other product that has WA05 (or K8W5) installed, so that you have two versions, one on top of the other? Global cannot be the cause, nor OLC NA, that I can recall. Do a search in your Scenery\World\scenery folder and see if you find WA05 or K8W5. Fabio7371
OK Good idea. I will try too look for it. I do not have any other products because I like to keep FSX: SE pretty sterile. Guess what? I looked and I have both WA05 and K8W5 to select from airports. Had you not pointed out WA05 it would still be a mystery. So how do you unselect one airport over the other in FSX: SE?? orbx offers a few FREE sceneries, but mostly in Canada. I do have Vashon (2S1) which is near but could that be it? I flew to Orchard and it seems fine, but left from WA05 and it was a no go - it was really funny. Several Winnebago campers and other random aircraft chased me down the runway. Fabio7371
Lucky me! I have both!! Try 8W5 without the K Do you have WA05? See below
Nick Cooper
Hello, there is no K8W5 or 8W5 in the default airfields of FSX or P3D or in the Orbx files. Therefore some other software is adding the spurious runway, probably software that updates the default airports.
Fabio7371
Nick I contacted Navaids update and he walked me through to eliminate the redundant runway. Part of the confusion is that the runway went through a name change. Thank you.
Fabio7371
Stewart, by the way... 8W5 is the runway and WA05 is a Heliport now in a different location? it is very confusing. 8W5 www.airnav.com/airport/8W5 WA05 www.airnav.com/airport/WA05
Nick Cooper
Hello, introducing modern navigation data into an 11 year old database is indeed bound to add confusion.

I don't use this data, so I don't observe the problem, of course.
