Still preferred uninstall method

I see FTX Central offers an uninstall feature for each scenery. I tried it using FTC v3.2.3.0 to remove KEGE.

I am now in the process of moving from v3.4 to v4.1 and using the beta FTXC.

That did not uninstall the folder from my v3.4 sim.  I am trying to keep a low impact on SDD space useage so as I add them to v4.1 I will be removing them from v3.4.

I then used the Tim Harris Method of:

To uninstall a FTX airport, I'll use YSCH as an example :

FIRST set FTXCentral to [Default]

- Browse to FSX\ORBX\FTX_AU (for American airports browse to FSX\ORBX\FTX_NA instead)

- Delete the FTXAA_YSCH folder

- Browse to FSX\ORBX\Scripts

- Delete orbx_cpl_ysch and scenerylib_AU_YSCH

- Run FTXconfigrator.exe (silent operation, it removes the scenery library entries)

Use the same guide to delete any payware FTX airport

In doing so, things seem normal but when I open up FTXC for v3 it still shows the scenery is there. Just trying to determine the best way to uninstall scenery after moving them from v3.4 to v4.1.

Hi,

If you go to your Sim\ORBX\User Documents\Versions folder you will see all the corresponding .txt files that tell FTXC3 what is installed, you can delete these and FTXC3 will no longer see them as installed and allow you to reinstall.

Cheers

Doug

Hello,

the "Tim Harris method" will indeed remove the scenery.

Because his guide is not for FTX Central v3, there is one more step.

Browse to ORBX\User documents\Versions and delete FTX_AU_YSCH.TXT.

This will make FTX Central show "Not installed" for the product.
