FTX Global lights bug

  • Nick Cooper changed the title to FTX Global lights bug

Hello,

The black squares are a good and a bad thing.

The good is that their presence shows that FTX Global Base is installed.

The bad is that they are supposed to be lighting.

You can correct the error by unticking the Preview Direct X 10 box in your

in-game settings page and restarting your simulator.

Hello,

welcome to the forums.

I have used the Direct X 10 Fixer since it was released.

In my opinion, it is an excellent piece of software that does everything that it says on the tin.

It does indeed fix the Orbx lights but also fixes numerous other unfinished parts of FSX and

adds VC shadows and if you buy the cloud extension as well, cloud shadows.

Overall performance of FSX in the Preview Direct X 10 mode is generally found to be better

and it is also more tolerant of the VAS limit.

The author, Steve Parsons, provides timely and expert support via a dedicated forum at Avsim

but it is rare to see a request for a problem with how the software works.

There isn't really a downside at all, once again, in my opinion.

The decision, as always, is yours.
