vgbaron
Considering that on MY system, FTXC3 fails - what options do I have for updating the products I have purchased? I see no provision for manual download and install WITHOUT FTX Central? Thanx, Vic
John Venema
FTXCv3 should have no reason to not run on your system. Better to find out why it does not run, than to ask for unsupported workarounds. I'm not familiar with your predicament - what have you asked in terms of support and what has been diagnosed? vgbaron
Sorry John - didn't want to duplicate my support post here - looking for alternatives to be able to update products JIC.. Nick - last thing I tried was to delete clr.dll and use SFC to replace it. Same issue. Other than a complete format and reinstall, I'm open to suggestions. Doug Sawatzky
Just a shot in the dark, but have you tried installing .net 4.0 and 4.5 separately?.....I do realize w10 comes with .net 4.6....but....
vgbaron
w10 will not allow install of 4.0 or 4.5 - says OS already has it and aborts. Vic

Doug Sawatzky
Another shot in the dark....have you looked in this location to see what is there? C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Orbx
vgbaron
Nothing in that location but the ProgramData location has FTXC. Vic
Doug Sawatzky
Hmmm, I only have a Global base uninstall shortcut in the C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Orbx But I have nothing Orbx related in the ProgramData location....I am using W7, don't know if it makes any difference. Doug Sawatzky
My FTX Central 3 is located in the C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Orbx location.
vgbaron
Mine is there too. Possible the ProgramData one is remnants of v2? Vic
Doug Sawatzky
Just now, vgbaron said: Possible the ProgramData one is remnants of v2? Possibly, but I would be deleting it and running a registry clean.
vgbaron
it's just a shortcut in the menu that points to the C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Orbx location.
Doug Sawatzky
That's very strange, I have a cloned set of hard drives that still have the FTXC2 build, I plugged them in and there is nothing Orbx related in the ProgramData location there either. vgbaron
Somehow the install of v3 removed V2. I can't find any trace of v2 on my system.
Nick Cooper
I remember you stated that when you used the FTX Central v2 installer I provided, that it install FTX Central v3. I have just tried the same process here and it simply installed FTX Central v2. I attach the exact same file for you to unzip first and run as an administrator. I would expect the same result on your PC. ftxcentral2_setup.zip
vgbaron
No, I had no problem like that - wasn't me. I ran the attached and it installed V2 which runs just fine. I also tried reinstalling V3 after V2 and it appears to install but I get the same errors. I ran several different .NET verification utilities and every version that I have up through 4.6.2 verifies as correct. Thanx for hanging in there, Vic
