Jon Clarke
How do I remove the terrible waves crashing into the shorelines in Global scenery? When the "improved" wave animation was included in the the 3.2 update I thought I would give it a try, but i really don't like them, especially the waves crashing on the shore at all different angles I had used Rex to install the animations but then I removed the animation by deleting the animation option in the Rex control panel and just reinstalled my sky textures. I still see wave animation though. Is there something in P3D I need to alter? How do i remove this please?

Jon Clarke
Are you referring to Water detail setting rather than Water Effects? My setting for Water detail is on Medium and i am seeing wave animation on shorelines.
Holger Sandmann
Hi there, if you're referring to the visual effect meant to simulate surf along ocean shores, placed by the default shorelines as well as Global Vector, then that's a tricky proposition other than unchecking the Advanced Animations checkbox, which will deactivate all visual effects. Previous discussions: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/82726-waves-breaking-on-beach/?do=findComment&comment=759808 http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/24459-new-surf-textures-and-animation-for-fsx/?do=findComment&comment=213496 I've seen "solutions" to delete the effects or associated texture files but that's rather poor advice since the placement code remains and thus the sim will keep looking for the missing files, likely causing (micro)stutters when flying near ocean shores. Instead, one would have to either remove the placement code from the respective terrain.cfg blocks for the shoreline textures or change the effects or textures to make them invisible. Either approach requires quite a bit of tinkering and knowledge. Cheers, Holger
