Preflight briefing

Hi folks,

I thought I would relate a something I thought was hilarious. This last Wednesday I went on a little scouting trip to get photos for some of the stuff I do. The trip involved a floatplane flight (DHC2 of course!) and the preflight safety briefing was a little more corporate than the ones given by Kenmore Air pilots which are so familiar to me. Our pilot propped a tablet up by the windshield and played a quite detailed video about all the safety features of the Beaver. When it came to instructions about cell phones, the camera switched from the narrator to a shot of a Beaver pilot opening the door window and just dropping the cell phone into the water!

This should apply to many situations in life.  It's so funny (annoying) these days where everyone is staring at their phones 90% of the time.  I am guilty of being absorbed by my phone occasionally, but sometimes the guys I work with are looking at their phones while we are (supposed to be) working.  They are not the only ones.

Cheers,
