FTX SAK Field Corruption

Recommended Posts

All of the airports in the SAK region function well with the exception of Homer (PAHO).   On approach to RWY 3  obstructions to the runway appear, like somebody has moved piles of sand onto the field, forcing the a/c to plow through it.  On departure the obstructions are still there.

Can anyone suggest a solution or fix for this problem ?

Thanks a  lot

Jack

Looks like you are missing some pieces from the latest SAK patch.

To correct, you can either re-download the installer from FSS which will be patched to v1.4 or download patches 3 and 4 from https://fullterrain.com/support#terrain

Install 3, then 4 and check on that timestamp and file size again, it should be dated May 2014 for the most recent.

You can install the two patches over your existing installation.

Also, since you got your CD from the Flightsim Store, you are eligible for a download copy of SAK. Go to: http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=2386 and SAK should be priced at $0.00 if you are logged in. "Purchase" it and you'll have access to a download that is fully patched and also has installers for Prepar3D.

Jack,

if you have the CD you still can download SAK from your account at the Flight Sim Store (FSS) as you you have unlimited downloads after purchasing ORBX Software even if you opted for the CD to be sent to you.

Reinstalled SAK 1.4 as well as patches but no joy in Scenery/world/scenery. "ADE_FTX_SAK_PAHO_elevation_adjustment.BGL" still shows 2011 timestamp..

My file is dated 5/27/2014, but in any case, that file has been disabled ("off'ed"), as has every other elevation adjustment in SAK.  Your reinstallation is obviously flawed.

Hi guys,

a couple of misunderstandings, it seems:

* the current version of "ADE_FTX_SAK_PAHO_elevation_adjustment.BGL" is in fact 12/12/2011. The newer version mentioned by Alex will only be used if the payware version of PAHO is installed, which jackone doesn't have.

* all of the "ADE_FTX_SAK_{ICAO}_elevation_adjustment" files in \Scenery\World\scenery should have a .bgl extension while SAK is activated in your scenery library (Stewart may want to check his settings in FTX Central!)

More likely, jackone has a third-party file active for PAHO that overwrites the SAK version. I'd recommend searching the entire sim folder tree for all .bgl files that contain PAHO as part of their names and then post a list or screenshot of the results with full file and folder names so we can confirm what should be present and what shouldn't.

Cheers, Holger

Ah, yes, thanks Holger.  I had Global activated at the time I checked.  :o
