  1. Just catching up after being in hospital and rehab. for a bit and wanted to say that flying the Link Trainer was the norm for awhile after WWII and as a Naval Cadet pursuing my Wings of Gold I sat it the spinning tilting blue box a few hours. I prefered the actual aircraft personally.
  2. Hospital visiting hours are from 1700 - 1930
  3. 'Hand Over' true but they are 'built' at Paine Field in Everett, WA
  4. One bad thing about putting on the years is that those around you age as well. My best and only friend for 15 years Simon my dog is nearing the end of life and I'll certainly miss his companionship, trust and affection after all these years.
  5. I'll second the thanks to JV and ORBX for the new Old Farts forum.
  6. Not bothered by SWMBO but health issues are sure cutting into my simtime lately. Went to the ER in Jan with a belly ache and suddenly I'm enmeshed in medical appointments. For Feb. and Mar. I have 32 different appointments to attend to. "Gettin' old ain't fer sissies!"
  7. Only 78 til Oct. but ATM I am falling apart but the good Lord willing and the 'crick' don't rise I'll muddle through.
  8. Sounds good to me Neil. The two RTMM has done have water starting location already.
  9. FWIW Taku Lodge is already done in the RTMM Scenery and prior to releasing Taku Lodge in real life was contacted to seek approval and RTMM was threatened with a law suit if it was released. After a long drawn out series of e-mails they finally realized this was for a freeware computer simulation and not for commercial use. Although the Global Airports are freeware they are connected to a commercial enterprise (ORBX). It may be prudent to check with Taku Lodge prior to doing the scenery. (PS: IRL there is no land airport at the location only float plane operations) RTMM also has done Juneau 5Z1 already. Although it is just a water runway the scenery is at PAKT so if you use ORBX PAKT that scenery will apply.
  10. Pat, The download via FTX Central v2 also includes the full PDF list of all airport in the NA Pack. The new airports are listed in BOLD to distinguish them. I could not find any PDF link Central either but after posting the problem here the solution is to Click SETTINGS / TROUBLE SHOOTING / RESYNC ORBX PRODUCTS. The PDF link should then appear to the right of "North American Freeware Pack".
  11. Nick, I have to disagree with you on the 'spoiler' function allowing as much info as you want. I checked and it will generate the error message if you exceed two lines when I tried do so by simply adding lines titled "three" and "four" to text already in the 'spoiler'.
  12. To me that equates to comparing apples and oranges. Both are fruit but not the same thing.
  13. Good morning Neil, got a nice little grass strip for you. I used to fly out of here in Grumman American AA5's 83J Coastal Airport near Pensacola, FL AIRNAV Link: https://www.airnav.com/airport/83J
  14. Just want to thank the freeware developers for all their efforts in providing the updated small airports around the world. This thread as the place to inquire and/or request airports to be updated is the best idea since buttered toast IMHO. Now if we can just get everyone to utilize it it will streamline the release announcement forums greatly. Thanks once again.
  15. Well after looking in the VOZ forums for an hour I finally found the correct site for these posts. The 'brain farts' are getting more frequent! I'll have to go back to the VOZ board and correct my request for where to find this thread. Real Name: Guy Maricich I live in the U. S., Pensacola, FL. I have been fully retired for just over a year now. Retired Naval Aviator then went to work for the City of Pensacola and as I said retired from that job a year ago last Dec. Some folks know how I got my nickname, "Spud". After completing Naval flight training and being assigned to my fleet squadron, like all nuggets I was given a 'callsign' for radio, and drinking purposes. I was born and raised in the state of Idaho, for those that do not know its famous for growing delicious potatoes. In the U. S. spud is sort of a short name for potatoes and naturally My callsign was Spud. I use it still as my screename on sites. The photo was taken back home in Idaho next to the second largest Western Red Cedar tree in the U. S.
