Nick Cooper
You might try reducing some of your display settings and flying a little slower. Maybe this will give the scenery time to focus.

Low computer performance and high expectation + aircraft speed = blurry scenery display. 14 FPS / 254Knots / 4910ft. It would appear that your computer is either not setup/configured properly, or your system does not have the resources to load the graphics fast enough. You will need to provide more detail about your laptop PC specifications and current graphics setup. You might also open your "FSX.cfg" and copy the contents posting it back here. Q: Do your graphics load completely if you pause the sim, (does the ground texture trees/houses show a sharper image). Q: Are you running FSX or FSX:Steam Edition

Jethro VH-JET
Hi Luisca_2001, Thankyou for that invaluable information, it certainly looks that you have some unusually high settings in your "FSX.cfg" for your poor struggling little 1.7Ghz 2.4GhzTurbomode CPU you also only have 4GB RAM to be shared between your Operating System and FSX. I have dispatched an ambulance with oxygen and a heart defibrillator, you are definitely placing too much load on your system the settings are quite unusually high for a low spec system. I still don't see any specific Graphics settings from your Nvidia CP AA & AF setting and are you using V-sync. What are your 4Gb Ram specs timing/bandwidth. What disk are you loading FSX from, an SSD or HDD 5400rpm or HDD 7200rpm. I am not an FSX Steam user nor do I use Win10, so I cannot advise much further than what I see in your FSX.cfg, It needs too many corrections - I could list them all one by one but it would be easier to have FSX create a new one. At this point I would suggest making a backup of your current FSX.cfg just rename it ( FSX.cfg.luis.bak ) or move it to a folder for safe keeping. Then restart FSX to build a Fresh Copy of the FSX.cfg file, If you receive any modules to Trust on FSX start say yes to all of them, they will be added back to the [Trusted] section. Then we have a starting point to adjust your settings appropriately.

Jethro VH-JET
Hi Luisca_2001, 1 hour ago, luisca_2001 said: thank yo Jeff i will try that but i dont understand what you say about: " What disk are you loading FSX from, an SSD or HDD 5400rpm or HDD 7200rpm. " i have my simulator loaded in the hard disk of my computer As you are running FSX & 64bitOS from a laptop there are several flavours or types of disk drive available when ordering purchasing or configuring the hardware according to price and model (The speed of the spinning disk is important). Some Laptop suppliers will install a Small to midrange capacity SSD (Solid State Drive), while others will supply a HDD (HardDiskDrive) with vastly larger capacity 7200rpm for a little less or same price, while others in an attempt to lower costs even further will supply a HDD 5400rpm with a midrange 500Gb or large 1-2Tb capacity. Budget laptops at the lower specification will possibly have a slower access 5400rpm drive, which is why I ask what type of drive and capacity came with your laptop, as this can also have a bearing upon an extremely resource hungry FSX simulator and the quality you will see on the screen, as with only 4Gb of installed RAM will involve the system swapfile quite a bit more and many more read/writes to and from the Disk to memory with slower drives increasing the amount of time it takes to access the files needed as you fly over the terrain. Every-thing counts towards the total picture where FSX is concerned. What I would ask you to do once you have a Fresh FSX.cfg, could you set your Nvidia GraphicsControlPanel to 16x Anisotropic Filtering and 8x Antialiasing I Suspect you are using DX10 preview mode or Steve parsons DX10 fixer, and not the FSX native DX9 mode. ( as seen in your original FSX.cfg) Then go into FSX Settings > Customise > >Graphics Tab > set "Global Texture Res" = Very High, Filtering = Anisotropic, Check the Antialasing box. >Aircraft Tab > uncheck "Aircraft casts shadows on its self" for now if using DX10 these are resource gobblers. >Scenery Tab > set slider - Level of Detail Radius = Large, Mesh Complexity = 100, Mesh Resolution = 5, Texture Resolution = 15 lower or 7 higher, >Water Effects > Mid1x or High1x only, do not set 2xHigh or 2xMax they are extremely burdensome on any FSX system. >Scenery Tab > check the "Land detail textures" checkbox. >Scenery Tab > set slider - "Scenery Complexity": = Extremely Dense, "Autogen Density": = Normal >Scenery Tab > uncheck "Ground Scenery Shadows" Checkbox. >Scenery Tab > set slider - "Special Effects Detail" = High >Weather Tab > "Cloud Coverage Density" = Low or Medium >Traffic Tab > pull all sliders to 0 in this tab until you have established a working sim with reasonable visuals and adequate performance that is not a slide show. Traffic will need to be moderated/limited with your system, if you must have traffic start below 16x and do not have cars boats or ships also do not have any "Ground vehicles" as these are also a burden on a struggling system. By for now I really need some sleep, Australia time here 3:55am

So that i have a fresh fsx.cfg No Luis, FSX will generate a new one when you restart your sim. It will produce a fresh FSX.cfg with a baseline setup depending on your [Main] ProcSpeed=6664, this number is used by FSX to assess where it will initially set the sliders. You must then adjust those sliders and checkboxes to tailor the outcome to your specific setup needs and addon software requirements. For example: my initial ProcSpeed line, reads ProcSpeed=20026 which gives me an initial setup with fairly high settings across most sliders. this is an algorithm used to assess the potential performance of FSX with the CPU's potential processing power. Jethro VH-JET
@Doug - Thanks mate, that is precisely what I am trying to indicate to Luis. Doubtless that any amount of tuning will allow a sharp image in flight @1.7GHz 4Gb RAM. Hi Luis, There is very little left to be tuned in your FSX, you could pull the ( autogen slider left even more to "sparse", you could also pull texture resolution left more 15 or 30, and Mesh resolution to 10m, but that will contrive to defeat what you as an FSX user are trying to achieve onscreen. (un-blurry ground scenery in transit ((while in flight)) You could also move your "Target frame Rate" slider in >Customise > Settings > Graphics to somewhere around 22 - 25 ) this will reduce some more load. The fact that your scenery does eventually sharpen 2min after landing, (This would also occur if you paused the sim for 2min) indicates what I said earlier, your Laptop PC does not have the processing power to reliably run FSX. @1.7Ghz your CPU would struggle even if you activated 2.4Ghz turbo mode. FSX would push the boundaries and deliver a less than satisfactory user experience, are you even sure that you have 2.4 Turbo mode switched on in your bios and available when the CPU detects a program (FSX in this case) is requiring extra resources. The reason that your FSX is blurry while in-flight and then becomes un-blurry after a period of time shows that your system is fighting hard to make available to FSX and process all the file requests which are required to display the scene onscreen. My only remaining thoughts would be:- to keep reducing the Resolution Texture/Mesh/Autogen sliders left one notch at a time until you see some improvement, failing that you will need to save your pocket money to buy a more powerful computer ( look at the system specifications of fellow flight simmers who have reasonably good performance and visuals on modern hardware over various FS forums, or Search "Computer Hardware specification for FSX" to see what basic PC hardware they are using) that will lead you to a system that suits your Flight Simming requirements. (Systems built or have been on the market within the last 2 years is an reasonable start point) (do not expect Microsoft's - FSX minimum spec to be adequate) particularly where addon scenery and aircraft are concerned. Jethro VH-JET
Hi Luis, I am happy that things seem to be working a little better for you now. I would like to encourage you to pursue Flight Simulation and learn all that you can, I hope that you would also encourage your friends to enjoy Flight Simulation as well, you young ones are the future. Remember that this is just the beginning of a journey and I'm sure that in time you will learn the finer aspects of Flight Simulator and how to get the most from your computer. The computer you have now as a beginner will eventually be replaced by an even better one when you have the money to upgrade. You young guys have such a bright future to look forward to, with flight simulator technology, scenery design, and computer systems getting better and better all the time. All the best young fella.
