lennie
I don't know much at all about computers; but recently i am getting complete shutdown with "fatal flaw"messages, is this the same as what everyone is calling OOM?
Nick Cooper
No, an out of memory error produces a small window stating words to the effect of "your computer has run out of available memory". A fatal error is something different and will have been recorded in the Windows Error reporting system.

Ziggy
What is the module that is crashing your sim for you guys? Like Nick says, you can check in your windows log for the error. Without knowing what the faulting module is you won't know where to start looking for the problem.
Cabby
Generally, a BSOD/hard reboot is an indication of hardware failure, usually a memory module, or a PC that is running out of specification(aggressive overclocking, etc.) Run the Windows memory diagnostic and make sure your PC's cooling fans are clean and functioning. lennie
I'm gonna look next time this happens, and find out what the reason is. Lucky me then that i have never had an OOM, maybe?
