Bushpounder
Hi all. I went to LAX and noticed that the fuel farm 3D objects (white tanks) just south of the field will appear and then disappear. It will do this on and off. The only thing that remains is the actual railing on the top of the tanks. I am not sure what could be causing this. I have 32 gigs of memory and 4 gigs of video memory, so I don't think it is a memory issue. Any ideas? Thanks! Don
Holger Sandmann
Hi Don, well, that took a bit of digging through our many object placement files. Turns out that the tank farm objects were inadvertently placed in two separate files. Looks like the sim gets confused by these "interlocking" objects, causing the drop-outs at certain view angles. Consolidating the files will take a bit of time but for a quick fix please deactivate the file "FTX_SCA_PR_objects_HuntingtonBeach.bgl", located in \ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_NA_SCA05_SCENERY\scenery, by adding an .OFF extension. You'll lose some of the 3D tanks but the flashing should be gone. Cheers, Holger

vpweb
I was just about to post this same issue. This is the Cheveron oil refinery just south of LAX. Glad this wasn't an issue at my end. I will follow the suggested temporary fix posted above.
Meerkat
Hi there, I also have this issue with disappearing oil tanks near KLAX, and in the Long Beach harbor area too. Is there a permanent fix for these problems planned (aka SCA SP 1)?
Monty
Same problem here. Many thanks to Holger for the temp fix which worked nicely. Is there a permanent fix in the works?
