Jack Sawyer
Does EGTR really have palm trees in real life? In the UK? I spent three years there and never saw a palm tree. The video on the airport shows palm trees though.
teecee
parts of the Southern region of the UK are on the Gulf stream, so yes, the really do have palms thriving down there. Teecee.

teecee
Just took another look at the map re EGTR, and to be honest I have my doubts that the warmth of the Gulf Stream would extend that far inland.. Perhaps someone who lives in the area will have a better idea..Teecee.

The video on the airport shows palm trees though. Palm trees would definitely not be common inland towards London. They are common down in Cornwall (towards the south west). Having said that, I grow a few palm trees in my back garden here in Northern Ireland - but they grow very slow taking about 10 years to reach 8 feet tall. It might be possible that the airport planted a few intentionally and they would survive but not be the size of palm trees in warmer climates. Jack Sawyer
I won't go there. I was just wondering if this is correct as I'm considering buying it and all of ORBX's airports are highly detailed and real so I was curious if there really are palm trees there. Bruce Hamilton
You're talking about ORBX... unless they're doing a fictional airport, what you see is really there.
Alex Goff
I don't believe there are palms at EGTR. Are you referencing this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UHC0eGoL4M The first half of the video is in AU, where there are indeed palm trees. The second half has EGTR featured
Jack Sawyer
Hi Alex, that looks like the same one on this site. I was looking at all the airports you have for the UK and I saw that this one's video had palm trees. If true then it's cool, I didn't know the UK could support them with such cold winters. Thank you.
Alex Goff
In that case, EGTR has no palms, the video is just showcasing two separate airports, the one with palm trees being in Australia. A quick look around EGTR shows no palms that I can find anyway.
