FGM02011981
hi there. i installed ftx au yesterday and noticed some weird texture patches. (maybe a part of a default texture, its repeating it seems like the same sort of piece) its mostly in the "green" cities on the east and south coast, at least i did not saw this in the brown/yellow desert regions. any clues? Nick Cooper
I see you also have FTX Vector. Try disabling (unticking) the four entries for it in your scenery library. For reasons explained elsewhere, FTX Australia looks much better without it active.
FGM02011981
thanks for the fast reply. sry for my stupid questions (you ppl really short on answers sometimes i need this step by step or its prompts even more questions and i panic pretty fast) do you mean the fsx library? cause in there are lots(and lots) of AU entries. Voyager
Hi Here: where the arrows, untick the four entries. Cheers, Voyager
FGM02011981
tried something by myself. there weren't that much entries after all my fault. do you mean these 4 entries(see screenshot) i disables these and the "patches" are gone. do i understand this right that vector is disabled for AU by these?!? do they only affect AU?!? done and done , thanks
Nick Cooper
No, if you untick those entries, Vector stops working everywhere. Briefly, Australia was the first product and Vector is one of the latest. It just happens that they are not quite compatible, in the way you have found. The advice is, if you are flying in the FTX Australia region, to see it at its best, untick those four entries first. If you plan to fly elsewhere in the world and not in an FTX region at all, you should put the ticks back or you will see none of the benefits of Vector. FGM02011981
ok so far mystery solved, thats too bad. i guess i have to live with it then. this switching on and off seems kind of impracticable(for a quick pattern maybe)
Stewart Hobson
ok so far mystery solved, thats too bad. i guess i have to live with it then. this switching on and off seems kind of impracticable(for a quick pattern maybe) One of things we have learned in dealing with the flight sim world: You play the cards you're dealt. FTX AU is a good case in point.
FGM02011981
hi there me again. i did a bit try out switch this on and this off. anyway i guess i found out whats causing this problem(at least in my case) its the various features settings in the vector config tool. the ugly patches you can see in the screenshots are the golf courses, wetlands and parks (which by the way are present in the scenery one way or the other) just keep them disabled(untick) and everything is find and you can enjoy AU correctly "vectored/elevated"
