  3. Here are my thoughts Iain. Keep up the good work and to coin a phrase I read on Linkedin recently 'If they do not know you personally, don't take any comments personally'. The screenshot contest is a great idea and enables a wide variety of good quality contributions from different members. I have a suggestion to make for future Orbx screenshot competitions. Not sure at this stage how feasible this is, however it might be worth a trial period. - Members submit their monthly entries anonymously for scoring from 1-10 with the images being displayed but no member name (if feasible) - Certain Orbx staff team members e.g. yourself, Nick and Ed then score the submissions - Scores from 1-10 are based on certain image attributes e.g. composition, colour, perspective, depth of field/focus and overall quality - The winner each month is decided based on your total combined scores - The winner is then announced - A member can only win this competition a maximum of twice per year The above method would help encourage more 'independent' judgement and scoring of images submitted and also help ensure a clear and decisive winner each month based on a most likely unique total score. Happy flying everyone.
  4. Looks awesome. Hope that Orbx YMML Melbourne airport is released within the next few months.
  5. Looking forward to Orbx YMML Melbourne airport release, ideally before a Melbourne cityscape release.
  6. Hi Nick If my 2080 card does not have HDMI 2.1, yet a 3080 card does have HDMI 2.1 and I have a 55" Oled TV with HDMI 2.1 (i.e. no need to buy an expensive dedicated 4k PC monitor) - do you think the upgrade is worth it to enjoy 4k visuals (instead of 2560 x 1440) on a large Oled screen with good FPS and refresh rate? Interested to hear your thoughts.
  7. Interesting view Nick. I just found the following article which shows a good graph at various resolutions in Ultra quality DX11 (per their specific test scenario) for the MSI 3080 Gaming X Trio 10gb card for FS2020. https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_rtx_3080_gaming_x_trio_review,20.html At 2560 x 1440 the 1070ti achieves 29 frames per second, the 2080 achieves 42 frames per second and the 3080 achieves 48-50 frames per second. Therefore for 8 frames per second gain (or c. 16% FPS gain) from a 2080 to 3080, it is hard to justify the price of the upgrade to a 3080. Also presumably when the developers have nailed and released a stable DX12 in FS2020 this should enhance visuals and frames per second further with some existing cards.
