    Hi

I have just bought the aircraft , looks great.

Would you know how I would be able to change the call sign and the tail number?

It does not seem to change from the default 24-4929,

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Welcome to the forums.

I'm not sure if the ability to change the visual tail number has been implemented in the SDK yet.  It is possible to do with default aircrat, but not any 3rd party aircraft that I have seen.  You can change between several different visual tail numbers by changing the livery.

    Cheers,

Hi Scott. As you are a Victorian resident, it could only have been YMML, YMEN, or YMMB. My first guess would have been YMMB as you live close by. However after I downloaded the photo and zoomed in, I could see that the aircraft belonged to the Air Ambulance. not the Royal Flying Doctor as ikbenik called it. A quick search brought up the Air Ambulance as being based at Essendon. The answer is, therefore, YMEN now called Essendon Fields Airport.

    Cheers Bernie.

PS, I have found a photo of an Orbx airport so I can post that one if I am successful..

Well deduced Bernie ;).  YMEN it is.  I actually took that photo quite a few years ago, and just happened to be working at the Air Ambulance base one day.  I also lived nearby, so used to take many photos of planes on approach and landing at the airport.

    Cheers,

When we were alpha testing MSFS, we of course noticed that the bridge was missing, which was somewhat odd, as the Opera House was well modeled. We never got an answer from the development team, until someone from Sydney speculated that the city government had managed to have the bridge patent protected. No idea, whether this is true, but if it would be true, Asobo/MS would have to ask the city government for permission to model it into the sim, hence they didn't bother.

On the other hand, if the Harbour Bridge is protected, the iconic Opera House must be patent protected too, but this one looks great in default. Oh well, just speculating. It's not really important anymore, I guess ;)

I think "speculated" is the operative word here. ;)

I have three more.  All from the ground.  They should all be "fairly" easy to recognize but I tried to make them a little more difficult to guess;)

OK, I know the first one and the third one.  Not sure yet about the middle photo.

1/  Despite the logs missing (or added, depending on your point of view) I think the first one is 74S Anacortes.

    2/ ?

3/  I think this one is KBVS Skagit.  The "Port of...." was the hint for me.

Great shots.  It's awesome to see these airports in real life photos.

I am kind of confused by the parallel session of @medx421 and @Kilstorm . Has there been a correct answer, or some more guessing?

However, I´d like to continue this thread, ...

... and as I was fortunate to have identified Lady Elliot Island (even without turtles!), I just merge to one fresh open question. And I am sure you´ll get is at fast as you got all my previous ones:

I think it's Innsbruck.  The main hint was the like by Jarrad :D.  It certainly looks different from this view (if I am right).

  6. Dominique, I have heard a lot of users say that the worst thing about DCS, and the thing they wish would improve, is the scenery, particularly the lack of different locations.  I'm sure there would be a market for scenery development.  Personally though, as I say above, the look of the ground, buildings, trees, has always been of no interest to me in DCS, and in particular the scope of the current areas is more than satisfactory for me.  The look of the airports is another matter, but I think ED has done a good job on these already.  This is just my opinion.

    Cheers,

  7. I have to agree John.  I have to be honest here and say that the scenery is the last thing I am paying attention too when flying in DCS.  I either have my head buried in my avionics and displays, or I am keeping an eye out for bandits, or threats on the ground.  That is if I'm not busy using BFM to avoid getting hit by enemy fire.  The airports in DCS World are pretty well done, and have plenty of detail where you need it.  Once I am airborne in that sim though, I am not doing any sightseeing.
