Matt McGee
I've read Tim's recommendation, "The medium-darkness REX4 ocean color gives the best result", but I only have Rex Essential Plus, not Rex4. Anyone have both that could tell me what my Rex Essential Plus "Ocean Water Texture" sliders should be set to, to best replicate REX4 "medium-darkness"? BTW, is it worth the $35 to buy Rex4 since I've already got Rex Essential Plus? Thanks, Matt
Jordan King
I own both but always find myself coming back to REX+OD with Soft Clouds. I use the sparkling preset with the FSWC Water Configurator using "Ashtons Favorite" preset and it looks incredible. 100% Unedited
Tim Harris
Dont think it matters which version of REX in this regard, due to the wide range of tones we aimed for a middle of the road brightness in our photoreal sections to match the 'medium' darkness sea texture, I have all the versions of REX and prefer the newer REX4 due to the faster texture changes, though REX+OD still has the best selection I think What Jordan shows is what we aimed for, not too bright, not too dark Lots of options! kevinsue
What is the actual Texture set number that refers to the medium-darkness REX4 ocean color for the Samoan Experience? I have Light, Medium and Dark in the various REX4 selections but I'm not sure which one everybody is referring to.
Tim Harris
Just any of the medium ones, there is not much difference between the different medium sets except the coral choice, number 5 is nice to start with This is a great place to see the real American Samoa https://www.flickr.com/search/?text=AmericanSamoa One example is this https://www.flickr.com/photos/59598936@N08/6737343121/or https://www.flickr.com/photos/naomit/5850055875/sizes/o/
kevinsue
Hey Tim, thanks for that. I'll give it a whirl! I have been messing with a lot of settings and just about have it perfect in my way of looking at it.
